I had a great experience staying here back in mid-April! The best thing about this place is that it is walking distance to the lifts. There is a room on the same floor as the parkade where you can store your skis/boards and equipment. There's also a boot drying rack, which I found to be amazing to have! I recommend bringing your own lock for the equipment lockers. The lockers are all free to use and are first come, first served. No reservations are required. There are washers and dryers on-site, but I found one dryer out of service, unfortunately, so I had to use the one in the storage room. You can obtain the necessary coin for laundry from the front desk staff. They even sell laundry detergent. My room was great! Vaulted ceilings were a feature I never expected. I asked for a microwave, and they happily provided one at no additional charge! There are level 2 EV chargers here! Make sure you have a NACS to J1772 adapter if your car doesn't have a NACS charging port! The power cords are quite long, so parking nose in or out, you should be fine. I only have a couple of small complaints, but don't let these deter you! My room was next to a stairwell, the door would slam shut hard enough my room would shake me awake in the mornings... My recommendation is for Aava to add something to the door, keeping it from slamming shut. The parking fee is $24 a night to park in the underground garage. I personally feel that is a little high. Maybe $15 a night would've been better, but I do understand this is in a major resort area, so higher prices are usually expected, especially when it comes to parking. My recommendation (really, a request) is for the parking fee to reflect current market demand (peak season = higher pricing $24/off-peak season = lower pricing $15). Aside from those few things, the staff here are amazing! Very professional in attitude and appearance! From the front desk to housekeeping, everyone seemed very happy, friendly, and professional! I loved it! I will return for next ski season, maybe even for a few days this summer! Thank you for the upgraded room, Aava! It meant alot to me! See you all again sometime!

Of all hotels I stayed in during my trip through Canada this was by far the noisiest one - even the cheapest motel I stayed in was not even close to the level of noise you'll encounter here. If you are looking for a calm and quiet spot, don't book this hotel. You hear the people above you trampling around and with every step the ceiling is creaking very loudly. I still don't understand why some people constantly need to walk back and forth in their room?! Just sit down und shut up. I even heard the vibrating phones of other guests as if they were right next to me on my bedside table. Hallway on 1st floor is used as a playground it seems, so good luck with sleeping if you have a 1xx room. They have a pool, but ultimately it's unusable, because it's tiny and rather a children's playground as well. The hot tub was so packed, looked like a tin of sardines. The "gym" is in fact dysfunctional. I've read other reviews from 2 years ago where some people already criticised the condition of the equipment. Guess what... In 2 years nothing has changed. The cheap torture device they have there was not working at all, see pictures of the loose cables etc. Actually, it could potentially be very dangerous trying to use this broken thingy. The picture of the wobbly bench (dangerous as well when using dumbbells and it's not stable when you sit/lie on it) speaks for itself. Why have a "gym" at all, when it's not even functional? I guess it's for some kind of certificate which requires to have a gym in a X star hotel or to just pretend they have one for the booking sites. Also no water and no towels in the "gym". Some children using it as playground as well. Needless to say that this is dangerous, particularly with the defective equipment. It's way too overpriced for what they offer. The only good thing is the location of the hotel. My room wasn't bad either, it was clean and tidy. But the noise is a no-go for me, especially when you have parents who just let their spoiled children go instead of feeling responsible for entertaining them and teach them some manners. Parking is $24 per night.

Location perfect, couldn't be better: Right next to the border of the Whistler city centre pedestrian area and walking in there, you walk staight to a supermarket and there is also everything else you need, like a smoothie bar and lots of restaurants. (We went to 'Naked sprouts' and a Mongolian grill restaurant the other day; I really recommend both.) The hotelroom was nice. We had a room with 1 queensize bed (a very good size for 2 persons) and there was also an 'electric fireplace' and a couch on the room: Really really nice! There was an elevator. There was also a Nespresso coffee machine in the lobby and drinks- and icecube-machines. For those among us who visit the hotel for wintersports/ skiing, there are a lot of large ski-lockers in the basement, you see directly when entering the hotel from the parking garage entry. (We didn't eat breakfast in the hotel, so no idea how the breakfast is.) Service at checkout made me angry: At the check-in we were told we can park as hotel-guest, what was exactly according to our expectations because the booking.com website tells it includes free parking. At check out we got the very bad news a 48 dollar fine WILL BE charged (24/day), for using the parking 2 days; We weren't told the garage cost money for hotelguests and it is against the promise on booking.com so it was a very unpleasant surprise afterwards; They could have asked beforehand if we wanted it or not. Instead of asking we wanted it, we only received the question 'cash or from the reserved creditcard deposit' (100 dollar reservation), without even the option of refusing/ without questioning we wanted to park for 24 dollar a day or not. Scandalous tourist scam. (I added a screenshot to proof free parking is promised. Translation from Dutch: "Gratis parkeergelegenheid" = Free/ complimentary parking facility.)

For anyone looking to stay here, be wary of how AAVA handles their ads and offers, and a lack of accountability.

Saw hotel’s offer on ‘FallVibes’ on their website, which was booking 2 night stay and get 50% off parking and 4-pack AAVA lager on arrival.

Called to book over the phone a king size bed room for Thursday and Friday nights. We wanted to use different credit card for each day. Guy over the phone said all good, took our CCs and got it done.

Arrived Thursday 10/24 and was told on arrival my partner’s last name is not in the system… but mine is (likely due to us using different CCs for each day?) Guy on the phone apparently only booked our second day and not the first.

Guy at front desk said the guy who helped us over the phone doesn’t even work there anymore (we only called to book a week ago…), but no worries, there’s space anyway so just rebook Thursday for us on the spot.

Walked into queen size bed room instead… not what we booked, but dealing with such a huge error right at arrival already we let it go.

Later in the day we went to ask about whether our booking still got the ‘FallVibes’ deal. Woman at front desk said no, because we paid with two different CCs. Guy over the phone had said all good though when we first called the book, but since apparently he doesn’t work there anymore there’s nothing that can be done?

We also therefore won’t be getting the 50% off parking.

To be fair, the stay was clean, and we liked how dog-friendly AAVA is. The outdoor heated pool and hot tub were great.

However, we do feel duped in that we saw a deal on their website, called to book, and on arrival was told whoever booked for us doesn’t work there anymore… and so we don’t get the deal. Feels like the hotel takes no accountability.

Would love to say the stay was amazing, but can’t because the entire booking process at our expense left a...
