Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at this Portuguese restaurant in Macau. The restaurant itself was cozy, with only a few tables, but it had a very unique and special decor that caught my attention immediately: a tree hanging from the ceiling! This gave the place a rustic and charming feel, which I loved.
The restaurant served a variety of Portuguese-style dishes, which were perfect for sharing. While everything we had was delicious, the standout dish for me was definitely the sautéed mushrooms with Portuguese ham. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection, and the ham added a savory and slightly smoky flavor that complemented the earthiness of the mushrooms!
The other dishes were also fantastic. The mini snails were seasoned just right, and the quail eggs were a nice addition to the meal. The sardines were fresh and perfectly cooked, and the pasteis de bacalhau were great.
The service at the restaurant was also good, with the staff being attentive and friendly. The prices were rather reasonable, especially considering the quality of the food. However, I would suggest coming early or booking in advance, as the restaurant is quite small and popular, making it hard to get a table if you just walk in.
Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience in Macau. The food was amazing, the decor was charming, and the service was top-notch. If you’re a fan of Portuguese cuisine, you won’t want to miss this gem of...
Read more3 Sardines is a very good Portuguese tapas bar situated along Rua De Sao Roque in the St. Lazarus District of Macau. Opening hours are 5pm until late daily (closed on Tuesdays). It is a bit hard to find by just using a paper map of Macau so you may want to pull them up on google maps as well.
This is a fun little place in a quieter neighbourhood around 10 minutes walk from the crowded areas around the Historic Centre of Macau. Worth making reservations, particularly on weekends and public holidays. During our recent weekend visit, they were full up and had to turn away quite a few who tried walk-in visits.
Food menu is a nice range of small plates that are great for sharing. They have a good drink list as well with local Stout, strong sangria and even Ginjinha based cocktails. Atmosphere is a blend of antique, throw back and eclectic while Portuguese music is being played. Service was very friendly during our visit, a bit overworked with only two wait staff on hand on the occasion.
Overall, we had a great time at 3 Sardines and will eagerly look forward to visiting again for pre-dinner round of drinks and tapas during future...
