La Fortuna 360 — Local services in La Fortuna

We booked two different tours with this company. We booked the combo tour and the safari float.

The first one was an interesting experience and even though we haven’t been lucky to spot animals, the whole experience was quite nice and we were split in two groups. The other group was able to even spot monkeys and slots.

The second tour we booked was a terrible customer experience. We arrived at 8:00 at the main location and we were supposed to be picked up by the guide and start at 08:05 the safari float. At 08:10 we asked a lady at the desk if she has any information but she seemed to not have any idea about our tour. We called the agent that booked our tour, and he mentioned there were some problems and the tour will no longer take place, and that we could have the option in the evening to do the tour if we would be interested. (Even though when we booked the tour he advised not to book in the evening bec of high chances of rain). We later found out that the tour guides forgot to pick us up..

We asked for the refund of the money which they agreed to and the agent sent us to the office where we booked the tour, so we went there and there was a man there that was completely unaware of our situation and he had quite an attitude telling us to chill and not have an attitude and that he does not know anything and can’t help us. After we insisted, he called our agent which mentioned we are supposed to get the money back.. but surprise, not from there but from the place where we have first been. In the end we received the money back and the lady from the office, said without empathy that we were unlucky with the tour..

Even though it was not directly their fault for the situation, in this field, we would have expected more customer service and a little bit more empathy for...

This white water rafting trip was definitely a highlight of our 8 days in Costa Rica. We started the day around 8 am when we were picked up by our river guide “Machillo” Braulio and driver, David. We travelled with another couple from home and picked up two other couples before heading on an hour and a half trip to San Miguel where we went on the Sarapiqui river. During the ride to and from our rafting trip, we were given lots of local information about the landscape (Volcanoes) and the types of crops growing alongside the roads. Machillo was very informative, welcoming, friendly, and had energy to spare!

Before heading out on the water, we were given very specific instructions on how to navigate the river. We had a few over boards, one capsize, and the opportunity to jump off a 10 foot riverbank and a whole lot of fun! We felt safe knowing that Machillo had grown up on this very river had been a guide for 12 years (since he was 14!). We finished off the river part of the journey with a delicious snack of fresh fruit prepared by the guides, and then headed back to La Fortuna for a delicious lunch. Casado is the typical Costa Rican lunch and it was a delicious and hardy meal after a very active couple of hours on the raft. Thank you so much to Braulio....

First tour was ok, we had a nice time and a nice guide, unfortunately not a lot of wildlife was spotted but all in all a good day. However for the second activity we were very badly surprised by the fact that they forgot to pick us up for the activity. We had to wake up at 5:00 a.m to be in the agreed pick up place but no one showed up to get us. It was quite a disappointing moment when we found out that we will not be able to do our activity that we already paid for. They offered to give us the money back or rebook our activity for the afternoon. But our schedule for the day was already messed up. I must say some of their agents are not very customer friendly sending us from one location to the other several times to get the refund and after being unhappy with our experience telling us to chill out.
