Galaxy Air Ballon — Local services in Luxor City

Avoid this disaster of a tour like the plague. If you see Yussuf or his colleague taking care of you, RUN. Better to explore your options with other companies.

The tour was an absolute disaster, incompetence and disorganization, primarily orchestrated by the guide "Yussuf" and his colleague. The nightmare kicked off with a tardy pickup, a whopping 20 minutes late because apparently, the driver couldn't tell his passengers apart. He picked the wrong passenger. Once we finally made it to the minivan, we were forced to wait for an additional 30 minutes, all in the name of attempting to synchronize departures. Meanwhile, we saw other minivans departing. Hence, what did we miss out on? The sunrise. We wasted so much time. At the balloon airport every other balloon was ready to go, allowing swift transfer of people into the baskets and quickly ascending into the sky for the sunrise. On the other hand, these guys' balloon lay grounded like a dead weight. Thanks to this unpreparedness, we wasted another half-hour watching the sun mock us as it rose without us. And the staff trying to raise the balloon with no luck. And then, our flight was cancelled. It was blamed on the wind. But guess what? Every other balloon was airborne by then! If they hadn't wasted time in the minivan, and if they could prepare the balloon beforehand like what every other company did, we wouldn't have been left stranded. Did we get any explanations or apologies for the colossal waste of our time? Of course not. Yussuf couldn't care less about the inconvenience they caused. And just when we thought it couldn't get any worse, the transfer back to our hotels was interrupted for another mind-boggling hour. Why? To accommodate passengers from other balloons. But did they bother to inform us? Nope. All we got was a string of "yes, okey, wait...

Do not fly with this company - we spent too long waiting, missed the sunrise and they cancelled our flight. They are not well organised!

We were picked up from our hotel on time (3:50am) for the sunrise hot air balloon flight. We spent too long waiting in a minivan on our way to the flight area.

We arrived at 5:25am when the sunrise was at 5:43am. Other people arrived at the same time and still managed to go up in the air. We were left in the field watching the balloons go up and the sunrise. We were shortly told by the pilot that it was 'too windy to fly' - despite other balloons still going up.

They tried to convince us to pay the same for the second flight which we refused. We then spent over an hour waiting on the side of the road to be dropped back...

We had a great time riding with Anter and his crew, would highly recommend but I would suggest paying extra to go with a tour group to make the process smoother.

We left our cruise at 4.40am to a 5.10am ish arrival, from there we sat in the minivan as final confirmations on if conditions were okay to fly were done. The inflation started at 5.45am and we were in the air by 6! It is very stable and I felt very safe. Anter will point out key places to see. You can see views of the Luxor city and we landed 6.40am in the farmlands where the crew were waiting, they were so professional and we landed very smoothly.
