My review is very honest experience where I want to share our learnings so other visitors can be better prepared. Me and my wife visited Luxor and Cairo in the last 10days. Absolutely a gorgeous place to Visit. Mirna from Sheba tours arranged our guides in Luxor and the temples between Luxor and Aswan. She also arranged our hot air balloon trip in Luxor. Well arranged and she was in constant communication throughout the trip. Just our last part to Abu Simbel from Aswan was not pleasant. It was supposed to be in a car but the car driver arranged for a minibus which was quite uncomfortable and caused both me and my wife body aches where we eventually ended up in fever. I would recommend Sheba tours but make sure all the details of the itinerary are in place with mode of transportation, how much to tip the drivers, guides etc. Riyad (our guide) in Luxor was quite knowledgeable and is a five star guide where he”ll make sure you can experience Valley of the kings in a short span of time. Other guides were Ok and were on time. We could not find our guide in Abu Simbel.
Pros of using Sheba Tours; Good communication (most of the time) Good guides On time
Cons Communication can have a lag if there is an issue (For Abu Simbil trip, when we found out there is minibus, although a car was promised, I did offer to pay extra and get a car arranged to which, there was no reply) If the guide takes you for shopping in a local place, be careful. We bought two small boats from Hagag Shop near Valley of the kings (our guide took us to the shop). Shop keeper told us pieces were made from stone and won’t break and they bubble wrapped the small boats. We brought it back to our home with proper layers of clothes but the pieces were broken. Quite dissatisfied with the quality when it was claimed, they are top notch quality. Another example of shops trying to rip off visitors. So be careful. Shop keepers will try to play the same game of price gouging throughout Egypt. I wish they can be honest (just a wishful thinking).
Overall, I would like to give five stars but the Abu Simbel trip has made me to take one star off (Poor transportation and couldn’t find the guide...
Read moreIf I could, I give less than 1 star to the tour operator Sheba Tours or Travel To Church whichever name they go by, I’d probably give negative stars/fewdback everything. The company did not have any decency to inform us about a fully paid nile river cruise for 2n3d from Luxor to Aswan. The activity included Cairo-Luxor-Aswan-Cairo flights, 1 night in a Luxor hotel and 2nights on the cruise which took us to all important historical sites of Luxor, Edfu, Kom Ombo and Abu Simble. Basically 4 days and a very important leg of our Egypt- New Year holiday. We booked our tour on Get Your Guide who also had no clue about the cancellation and told us a refund will be made of the 930 Euros per pax that we paid (god only knows if that will come through).
The activity provider cancelled on the same day as the start day and did not even inform us about it. Sandra from the company even took our passport copies a night prior to book flights but then went MIA on the day of start.
This cancellation made us lose 2 days, costed us additional 850 USD per pax (to make additional bookings by ourselves) and PEACE OF MIND ON A HOLIDAY.
We even got a bad review of the company - Sheba Tours/ Travel To Church by locals and tourism authority of Egypt. 100/100 do not recommend risking your holiday with this company. I have made formal complaints with the Tourism Ministry, hoping the company gets corrected for this...
Read moreThis scammers ruined my holidays!! STAY AWAY! This agency caused me an incredible amount of stress, wasted my time and money. I booked a cruise, on the agreed day they picked me up but after 3 hours in their car touring Luxor they told me there was a problem with my reservation. A mistake they made or whatever. SO THERE WAS NO CRUISE, I had to buy a last minute ticket to go to Aswan by train - which by the way left EIGHT hours after the time they dropped me at the train station! To get the money back was another huge hassle, I couldn’t believe it. They wanted to deduct 50 dollars for the 3 hour tour - that I didn’t even want to do, just did because it was part of the cruise program. Only after hours stress and discussion they gave me back my money, not even all, I got 20 dollars less than I paid.
Please note that on a closer look 99% of their reviews are fake!
I forgot to mention that I booked the cruise and a few days later they told me they had made a mistake and it was going to cost 50 dollars more. After it all had been...
