During my recent visit to Luxor, I found myself in a challenging situation: waiting for funds to arrive, with only enough money to book a single night’s stay. From the moment I spoke to the hotel management, I was met with understanding and genuine kindness—they graciously agreed to wait for my payment. This gesture alone spoke volumes about the spirit of Luxor.
Unlike the bustling metropolis of Cairo, Luxor is a close-knit community where nearly everyone knows each other. There’s a warmth and friendliness here that’s truly unique. The hotel I stayed at perfectly embodies this local charm. Unlike most hotels in Egypt that charge in dollars, this establishment lists its prices in local currency, making it accessible and welcoming to everyone, especially locals.
If you’re searching for a hotel that offers five-star service without the five-star price tag, look no further. While it may not have an official five-star rating, the service is truly top-notch. The hotel boasts a swimming pool, delicious breakfast and dinner options, and even a bar at the back that feels like a blend of England and America—complete with a big screen TV and drinks that are “cheaper than chips”.
I celebrated my birthday at the renowned Winter Palace, often touted as the best hotel in Luxor, but it simply didn’t compare. The value, comfort, and service at this hotel far surpassed my expectations. The rooms are spacious, equipped with an impressive number of power outlets (six in total!), fast and reliable Wi-Fi, and room service if you need it. While the building may have a bit of character and charm, it’s those little details that make it feel like a true home away from home.
If I could give this hotel 20 stars, I would. It’s a hidden gem that deserves to be discovered. Thank you to the wonderful staff for looking after me so well—this will always be my first choice whenever I return to Luxor.
If you’re ever in Luxor and need a place to stay, don’t hesitate—come to this hotel. You...

The city and the family are integral parts of each other. The room was clean. The food was good. The fellowship and community were excellent! All in all, if you are looking for a place to lay your head and eat your bread, this is a great place to call home for your...
Read moreI was part of a group of about 100 college students, we stayed there for about 3 days from 28 to 30 December 2022. The hotel's location is perfect, in the hotels' area at the city center, 10 min from Luxor Temple. The staff was friendly, they allows us to do some mess in the hotel since we had some games and events. The rooms were a disaster, the electricity plugs don't work and the TV is broken. The room toilet doesn't have a "Shatafa" although we are in Egypt! And the water was cut several times a day. The service was very bad, the rooms weren't cleaned during the 3 days! And the housekeeper refused to give me 2 toilet paper rolls telling me that "1 is enough". The food was average, but one of my friends got an almost rotten mashed potatoes, and also one of the cooks refused to give me 2 eggs, telling me that "each guest only takes 1 which is enough"!! Overall I rate the experience with 2 out of 5, I don't recommend that hotel unless you are in a big group or...
