Androuet is fromagerie (cheese) shop with branches scattered around Paris including this shop on Rue de Verneuil just across from the Eric Keyser boulangerie. This is a master cheese maker since 1909 and a good place to pick up nice cheeses if you are planning through this area of Paris.
We stopped here during a recent trip and bought soft brie with truffle that was delicious. The tuffle flavour was prominent, complementing the natural age and flavours of the brie. We also bought a simple comte, around 36 months I believe. This was a bit creamier than expected of this age so it might have been younger. Regardless, it also tasted smooth and creamy with a bit of crumble texture.
To complement the cheeses, we bought a package of 48 month Jamon Iberico Bellota they had on offer. This was equally excellent, very nice acorn flavours with each sliver of ham - just delicious.
In the end, we were very happy with our purchases at Androuet. More expensive then your supermarket variety cheeses, you'll be able to quickly taste the quality difference. We would happily stop by here to purchases cheeses again if we find ourselves in this area of Paris...
Read moreFrom the moment we walked into Androuet, we knew we were in good hands. The selection of cheeses is impressive, and the advice we received was outstanding. We simply described our tastes and preferences, and three cheeses were recommended to us that turned out to be absolutely perfect – without us even having to taste them beforehand. That shows just how much expertise and intuition the staff have.
The atmosphere was very welcoming, and we felt completely taken care of. Our expectations were exceeded, and we are now enjoying three fantastic cheeses we would probably never have discovered on our own.
We are more than satisfied and can wholeheartedly recommend Androuet. If you value quality, expertise, and personal service, this is the place to go. We’ll...
Read moreI was stunned by the amount of cheeses when first I waked in. Blue eyed gentleman approached me and helped me to choose bunch of cheeses with all of his knowledge! He was super informative about every detail and so passionate about it you could easily tell. I never saw a glimpse of a boredom even for a second, such a professionalism that everyone should know. Kudos to all! Oh by the way, like it's been said, cheese here a bit pricey however, you can't compare that kind of artisan cheese with the store bought ones. Quality speaks for itself. Also here you know the whole story behind their products even the meadows that animals have been fed. Without a doubt I will definitely...
