I had the most delightful experience at a small traditional French restaurant in Paris. From the moment I arrived, the owner, Benoit, went above and beyond to make me feel welcome. Despite the early hour and the rain outside, he graciously opened the door and allowed me to come in for a drink, even though they officially opened at 12. Benoit's kindness and willingness to accommodate me left a lasting impression.
As I settled in and perused the menu, I quickly realized that this place was more than just a spot for a casual drink. The menu showcased a variety of traditional French dishes prepared with love and care. It was evident that the restaurant embraced the essence of French cuisine with a touch of heart and authenticity.
Now, let's talk about the food. It was nothing short of amazing. I had the pleasure of indulging in two standout dishes: the escargot and the foie gras pate. The escargot, a French delicacy, was cooked to perfection. Each bite was a harmonious blend of tender snails and delectable flavors that transported me straight to the heart of France.
The foie gras pate, on the other hand, was a true work of art. Its elegance and velvety texture were simply divine. The rich, buttery flavors danced on my palate, leaving me craving for more. It was a testament to the chef's expertise and passion for creating exceptional dishes.
Needless to say, I am already planning my next visit to this remarkable restaurant. The combination of Benoit's impeccable service, the warm ambiance, and the outstanding transitional French cuisine make it an absolute must-visit. I cannot wait to explore more of their culinary offerings and savor the flavors that this hidden gem has to offer.
A heartfelt thank you to Benoit for his outstanding service and for curating such a memorable dining experience. This small traditional French restaurant has truly captured the essence of French cuisine and left me longing for another...
Read moreFood was good but we had a bad experience with the service. Dined in for lunch and ordered the burgers, which was one of the plat du jours. During lunch, the plat du jour is a reduced price ($16 vs the original $24 for the burgers). When the bill came, we realized we were charged for the full price meal instead of the plat du jour price. I donât speak French, but I asked our server (middle aged lady) why we werenât charged the plat du jour price and showed her a picture of the menu showing the plat du jour prices. She said âit doesnât include dessertâ. We never got dessert - we just ordered the burgers. Dessert had nothing to do with what I was asking her. I told her that and she just walked away. I didnât want to make a scene, so I paid the bill and left.
I donât appreciate being taken advantage of and thatâs how I felt after this meal. While the food was good, I would not go to this restaurant again.
RESPONSE TO RESTAURANTâS COMMENT: We did not arrive well after 2pm - that is a lie. We arrived at 1:45pm and placed our order at 1:50pm. My wife even took a photo of when we got our burgers at 2:06pm (see photo with the time). If we arrived âwell after 2pmâ how would we have received our burgers by 2:06? We even said when we were ordering that we were ordering the...
Read moreWe were excited to have dinner in this restaurant but at the end we were very disappointed:( First, at 6 pm they had only 1 server available who was obviously extremely rushed and all over the place. The manager was sitting at the table with a lady savoring a cocktail. We requested the veggie burger, onion soup and the beef with French fries. So, the onion soup was made with extremely salty BOxed broth, the sauce on the steak was extremely salty that we left it on the plate. The fries, sorry to say But they are frozen fries ( Mac Donaldâs type) with tons of salt on them. The burger is not home made and the bun is again the bagged one from the store. They have no kids friendly menu.. when I tried to speak with manager he pretended he does not understand me and he showed some intention to give a discount but obviously not happened.
The ownerâs answer indicates his attitude: Je mâen fiche! In other words I m still getting my clients with or without a good quality of his food. Well.. some tourists share...
