The restaurant is super nicely decorated, loved the vibes. When i first came, the welcoming wasn’t nice, the guy was looking at me weirdly as if i did something wrong. The food is not expensive, but the service is a bit bad. I ordered a rare steak, i got it well done
 I told the waiter that its not rare, he told me yes it is, i showed him that the meat is FULL brown, he said oh this is how we do it. Um excuse me? 😂 We also got the salt flakes at the end of our meal, not even in the beginning. Its sad that the service is bad because the restaurant has potential. I think it lacks management.

Deeply Disappointed by the Handling of a Bad Experience.

I always try to find something good in every situation, but this evening made it very hard.

My friend and I were looking forward to dinner at one of our favorite spots and ordered the 600g Picanha (€75), expecting a quality steak experience. We weren’t drinking alcohol and kept it simple with sparkling water.

When the steak arrived, it looked beautiful — but as soon as I tried to cut into it, I realized something was wrong. It was incredibly tough, and no steak knife could get through it. Parts that were well-done were barely edible; other parts were impossible to chew at all. I’ve had many steaks in my life, but this was not even close to acceptable.

I politely asked the waiter if something might be wrong. Waiter called the manager. The manager came over and simply said, “I don’t know.” There was no apology. I showed him the uneaten pieces and said we just couldn’t eat it. He offered something else, and we ordered a 300g entrecîte (just one to be cautious). That steak was great — tender, flavorful, properly cooked.

The real shock came with the bill. We were charged for the full Picanha. When we raised the issue, the waiter avoided the conversation and called the manager again. The manager came back having reduced the price by only 50%, saying we had “tried some.” We explained that we only tried because we were trying to see if any part was edible. He refused to remove the charge. We paid for everything else but declined to pay for a dish that was not edible — and were told, rudely, not to come back.

No apology. No compensation. Not even a simple gesture like a dessert or a “we’re sorry this happened.” Just blame and disrespect.

Note: This review was left for the restaurant SERAPHIN (MarchĂ© Saint Germain). Since leaving the review, and without my intervention, the name has mysteriously morphed into CAMILA

The fact that I have visited this restaurant three times says a lot for it. The location is convenient; the atmosphere is pleasant, with noise levels that allow for conversation at a sensible volume (a true rarity); the service is good; the menu is varied and interesting; and the food is cooked to perfection.

So why the three star rating? Because, while I expect, and am prepared to, pay the price tag for dining in the 6th Arrondissement - I am affronted by the frankly diminutive portions served up for that price. A “pain perdu” dessert consisting of ONE TINY slice of French toast, topped with a microscopic scoop of ice cream - for 9.50 euros?? REALLY??? Like, what would it actually cost them to double that portion???

Similarly, my partner left feeling hungry on another occasion when his main course of vegetables cooked in coconut sauce left us wondering whether he’d accidentally been served a starter portion of the dish.

I absolutely get it that a restaurant of a decent calibre, in that area, comes at a price; what I don’t appreciate is the sense of feeling ridiculed with insulting, miserly portions for that price. PROLOGUE. Je suis venu plusieurs fois Ă  ce restaurant, qui se positionne comme un restaurant argentin et dont j'apprĂ©cie la viande (en particulier l'entrecĂŽte). Une fois, lors d'un dĂźner, nous avons mĂȘme laissĂ© un pourboire consĂ©quent. Malheureusement, l'expĂ©rience du 9 mars dernier a franchement tout ruinĂ© ! Nous avions une rĂ©servation pour 4 Ă  12h30, avec une rĂ©duction TheFork de -20% (est-ce pour cela que nous avons Ă©tĂ© si mal reçus ?). Vers 12h15, j'appelle le restaurant pour prĂ©ciser que nous aurons 10 minutes de retard et que nous serons finalement 5 (en fait, un des invitĂ©s avait Ă©galement rĂ©servĂ©, pour 5, par erreur, et a du coup annulĂ© sa rĂ©servation, pour ne conserver que la mienne). Comme personne ne rĂ©pond, je laisse un message sur le rĂ©pondeur du restaurant dans ce sens.

ACTE 1. A notre arrivĂ©e, une table pour 5 personnes a bien Ă©tĂ© dressĂ©e. En revanche, le serveur responsable du jour me prĂ©cise que la rĂ©duction ne s'appliquera que pour 4 personnes. L'invitĂ© qui avait rĂ©servĂ© puis annulĂ© pour 5 me fait remarquer que la rĂ©duction Ă©tait bien de 20%, mĂȘme pour 5 personnes. J'en fais donc Ă©tat au fameux responsable. Contre toute attente, celui-ci argumente que j'Ă©tais en retard (quel est le rapport ?). Je rĂ©ponds que j'ai laissĂ© un message sur le rĂ©pondeur du restaurant pour prĂ©venir dudit retard. Le responsable ne craint pas de dire qu'il n'a pas Ă©coutĂ© le rĂ©pondeur et que j'aurais dĂ» rappeler ! Je rĂ©torque que dans ce cas il faut dĂ©sactiver le rĂ©pondeur si celui-ci ne sert Ă  rien car je ne suis pas censĂ©e savoir qu'il n'Ă©coute pas son rĂ©pondeur. D'une mauvaise foi extraordinaire, le responsable fait semblant de ne rien entendre, et se contente de me dire qu'il fait une exception pour cette fois-ci mais que la prochaine fois il faudra rappeler jusqu'Ă  ce que je tombe sur quelqu'un ! Ayant cernĂ© le personnage, je me contente de sourire, en redisant qu'il ne faut pas hĂ©siter Ă  dĂ©sactiver le rĂ©pondeur...

ACTE 2. Notre table est situĂ©e juste devant la porte d'entrĂ©e, et je suis assis dos Ă  cette porte. Lorsque celle-ci est ouverte, je reçois tout le courant d'air dans le dos (en plein hiver). A un moment donnĂ©, cette porte est laissĂ©e ouverte. Je demande Ă  un serveur s'il peut fermer la porte. Il me dit qu'il faut qu'il demande au responsable (???). Le responsable (toujours le mĂȘme) accepte de fermer la porte. Ouf. Mais quelques minutes plus tard, la porte est Ă  nouveau laissĂ©e ouverte (par les serveurs, pas par les clients). Au total, il me faudra demander pas moins de 4 fois que la porte soit fermĂ©e (car Ă  chaque fois le responsable rouvre la porte, dĂšs que j'ai le dos tournĂ©).

ACTE 3. Un des invitĂ©s avait commandĂ© un tartare de boeuf poĂȘlĂ© aller-retour. Quand le tartare est arrivĂ©, il n'Ă©tait pas poĂȘlĂ©, donc nous avons renvoyĂ© le tartare pour qu'il soit poĂȘlĂ©. Pendant ce temps, les frites ayant Ă©tĂ© servies, l'invitĂ© s'est contentĂ© de cela, pendant que le reste de la tablĂ©e s'attaquait aux plats. A un moment donnĂ©, le responsable est venu nous voir pour savoir si on avait besoin de quelque chose. Nous avons juste rĂ©pondu que nous attendions le tartare poĂȘlĂ©. RĂ©ponse immĂ©diate du responsable : "Vous l'aviez demandĂ© ?". "Bien sĂ»r", ai-je rĂ©pondu au responsable, visiblement toujours prĂȘt Ă  accuser les clients. Si les deux premiers actes n'avaient pas eu lieu, cela aurait pu passer, mais lĂ  cela fait vraiment beaucoup.

EPILOGUE. AprĂšs avoir relancĂ© pour obtenir l'addition 3 ou 4 fois, je me lĂšve et me poste prĂšs de la caisse, ce qui a l'avantage d'obliger les serveurs Ă  effectivement me produire l'addition car sinon je reste plantĂ© debout au milieu du passage. Le responsable me sort donc enfin l'addition et me demande, d'un ton mĂ©canique, si tout s'est bien passĂ©. Je rĂ©ponds poliment que oui mais que j'Ă©tais assis dans le courant d'air et que la porte Ă©tait constamment ouverte. Il ne rĂ©pond rien (signe que sa question Ă©tait une pure formalitĂ© en effet et que le bien-ĂȘtre des clients est le cadet de ses soucis -d'autant qu'il sait trĂšs bien que c'est lui qui laissait la porte...
