Châtelet — Local services in Paris

Avoid the RER stations Notre Dame -Cite and Chatelet, they are a maze and gangs of pickpockets target tourists especially inside the trains - sorry to say this but gangs of African-French pickpockets operate in groups of 3-4 or more, one starts pushing you with no reason, trying to distract you and locate your valuables while the others act passively waiting for the opportunity to pick up your wallet, bag, mobile.

Never enter a train if you see such a group of people!!! unless you have your wallet and valuables well secured, always well locked in your front pockets.

There are no security cameras, if they rob you forget about your valuables, immediately block any stolen credit card, these guys seem to have contact with nearby dodgy stores to use the stolen...

Chatelet is somewhat like an "escape room" in the middle of Paris - to navigate there, one must solve the riddles hidden in the instructions. How can you go left and right over and over again only to be led back to the same place? This station is in a constant process of renovation (I think that by now, February 2017, most of them are already over), which means you never know which part of the maze would be closed to you, or how long you'll have to walk in order to get somewhere that should have taken no more than 2 minutes overground. Also, when you search for a specific exit - don't. This is one of the single stations in Paris in which I just go out whenever I can, because I never know how long it would take me to find the next exit......

UA/FR Нововідбудована славновідома центральна станція Парижу Châtelet. Її оспівав, не менш, славний Florent Pagny. Його хіт добрий саме у дорогу. І хоча у пісні мова про метро, але Шатлє є головною ров'язкою саме RER-ів. Це мій найуживаніший засіб пересування Парижем. Рери вже віддавна перестали бути швидкісним, хоча безліч парижан розшифровують останню літеру як Rapide, насправді RER - це еспрес, який має менше зупинок за метро і тому швидше і якісніше завозить мешканців передмість Іль-де-Франсу, до Столиці Світу. Тому й назвали його правильно Réseau Express Régional. У рері зручніше пити пиво і підхарчовуватися, що часто й роблять різностатусні пасажири. На більшості ліній спекотніше літом і зимніше зимою, ніж у метро, але там є другий поверх, за винятком лінії В, і ця двоповерховість для мене головний атут. Головне зайняти улюблене місце і насолоджуватися дослідженням пасажирів. Спостерігати за життям - цікавіше за саме життя. ————————————————————— La célèbre gare centrale parisienne de Châtelet. C'est le moyen le plus couramment utilisé pour me rendre à Paris. RER a longtemps cessé d'être la grande vitesse, bien que de nombreux parisiens aient déchiffré la dernière lettre sous le nom de Rapide. En réalité, le RER est un express qui a moins d'arrêts derrière le métro et qui permet donc aux habitants des banlieues d'Ile-de-France de se rendre plus rapidement et mieux. C'est pourquoi ils l'ont appelé correctement Réseau Express Régional. En général, il est plus pratique de boire de la bière et de la faire bouillir, ce qui est souvent fait par des passagers à taux différents. Sur la plupart des lignes, il fait plus chaud en été et hiver en hiver que dans le métro, mais il y a un deuxième étage, à l'exception de la ligne B, et ces deux étages sont pour moi le principal atat.
