I was in search of the perfect pain ou chocolat and this was what chatgpt told me to check out. Although their pain ou chocolat did not wow me (maybe I got it at 7pm and it was baked a while ago) I was pleasantly surprised by the chocolat délice (some sort of chocolate cake with mousse filling and a layer of maybe yellow cake?). I'm already thinking about going back tomorrow to pick up a whole big thing of that chocolat délice. Great products, but low hygiene standards...

While eating a cake and having a coffee for less than 10 minutes, I noticed one of the employees doing the following WHILE WEARING NO GLOVES AND WITHOUT WASHING HER HANDS: picked up a tray of baguettes from the floor, bringing it on the table, then moving baguettes from the tray on the shelf with bare hands taking a slice of cake with a clamp, then placing it directly on the table using the broom to clean the floor wiping away some coconut flakes from the table where she also placed the slice of cake, with her bare hand moving around a tray of croissants AND touching some of them with her bare hands while...

This fantastic bakery was a couple doors down from our hotel room and the source of our very first bite on a quick trip to Paris. We had a Beignet Creme and it was so delicious and delightful, most of Paris melted away while we savored bites of it. Truly delicious and decadent.

We wanted to go back and eat everything from their attractive display of pastries but ended up missing their opening times. But safe to say, if you're in this neighborhood and in need of an authentic and fantastic French pastry of any kind, you won't go wrong stopping here.
