Café Benjamin offers a quintessential Parisian bistro experience—the perfect setting to savor some of France's most comforting and beloved dishes. Stepping inside, the atmosphere is warm and bustling, providing a cozy escape. For starters, the Onion Soup set a high bar. It was rich, deeply flavored, and beautifully caramelized, topped with a generous layer of Gruyère cheese melted to a perfect, bubbly crust over a toasted crouton. It’s hearty and satisfying—a flawless rendition of this classic. Moving on to a midday favorite, the Ham and Cheese Sandwich (assuming the toasted CroqueMonsieur style) was executed with impressive simplicity and quality. The bread was perfectly buttered and toasted, encasing high-quality jambon and a creamy béchamel sauce mixed with the cheese. It was substantial, savory, and pure comfort food done right. For dessert, we started with the Caramel Crêpe with French Vanilla Ice Cream. The crêpe itself was thin, delicate, and tender, bathed in a sticky, sweet caramel sauce that was buttery rather than cloying. Paired with a scoop of cool, aromatic French vanilla ice cream, it created a wonderful contrast of hot and cold, and texture. Finally, the Crème Brûlée delivered that essential moment of theater. The crack of the caramelized sugar crust gave way to a rich, smooth, and perfectly set vanilla custard underneath. It was served at an ideal temperature, demonstrating the kitchen's dedication to proper preparation. Café Benjamin delivers a high-quality, authentic taste of Paris. From the savory, deep flavors of the onion soup to the comforting sweetness of the crêpe and the precise execution of the crème brûlée, it's a place that respects French culinary tradition. It's highly recommended for anyone looking for classic bistro fare.

I visited Café Benjamin in the evening on Saturday 31 in August. I wasn't having a great time because some "family issues" were getting in the way. But, this one server I never got his name but (he was a tall slim built black guy) besides showing quality and amazing customer service, he showed personality to me. By, expressing kindness and overall sweetness. He knew I wasn't okay and tried to calm my dad ranting at me for something minor for me. Afterwards he gave me a note explaining things will be okay, and how my dad was just trying his best. If I could ever get this man's name, it would help but my name is Rian. And. J'adore votre style de service.

After a long day out on the town we stumbled across Cafe Benjamin and decided to try it out. Lassana was our server and immediately warmly greeted us. I have to say, the food was incredible but what was most memorable was how amazing Lassana was throughout our experience here. He was extremely tentative and caring about all of our questions about the menu and specific requests, going out of his way to find what it was that we needed. To top it off, after we left him gratuity for his outstanding service, he came back and gave us a heart balloon! Would definitely recommend coming here and make sure to request Lassana as your server!

Cute looking little restaurant. After being seated inside per our request. (We always ask to sit inside in Paris as we have two kids and do not smoke and outside seating is all a smoking section). We did not see a waiter for 10 minutes. Once we ordered our food it came nearly immediately. My kids had hot dogs which were served on a baguette not a bun. This made it nearly impossible to eat. They could not get their mouths around it to bite and the bread was super crunchy. Fries were standard. Lasagna was horrible, burnt to a black crisp on the edges (individual piece in its own little pan), no marinara sauce, only meat, over cooked noodles, cheese and some random tomato pieces. Entrecôte was very thinly sliced, no seasoning and was served prior to resting so arrived in a giant puddle of blood. Salad was served on the same plate which made it cook slightly and be soaked in the hot blood from the steak. The onion soup was delicious, standard French presentation and preparation. We had dinner in the evening around 1900 and there were 3-4 mice running under our tables collecting scraps. The kids loved it…I know in a city there are vermin, but it just added to the feeling of lack of...

We are tourists and walked into this place as it was nearby. I thought the waiter was slightly rude the way he served us but little did I know…After the bill came, it was euro55 and I gave him euro70, to which he said ‘ok, that’s it’ I asked him to give me the change as it appeared he was joking. He then gave me euro10 back saying he has no other cash to give me. I said ok originally. I then changed my mind as I thought it was rude to forcefully assume euro5 tip. So I told him I give him back his euro10, and he has to give me back my euro70 and I will pay by card. He gave me euro 60 back telling me that he already gave me euro10 - somehow? (I showed them my purse which only had 20’s). I asked for the manager who he didn’t want to call. Eventually another waiter came and told him to give me back euro70 and do card payment. He then typed amount on the card machine which I wanted to check so I put my hand towards it which he smacked. Again another waiter had to interfere This waiter- short guy, and walks a bit funny, with falling down pants, is very rude, violent and a lier. Food was nothing special. Toilet was full of poo covered tissues....
