We booked the 3-hour Semi-Private Palace of Versailles Walking Tour yesterday (30 Aug 2025). While the Palace itself is beautiful and the Gardens were exquisite, we found the tour itself to be lacking. Our tour through the Palace took only 56 minutes. This included the entirety of the Kingâs and Queenâs apartments and the Hall of Mirrors. Our guide rushed us through the entire internal tour of the Palace and missed quite a few other rooms that were open for exhibit and display. We also were not allowed to stop and take photos with our travel companions in the rooms or stop to check out the travel store within the Palace. Our guide then quickly ushered us out to the Gardens without letting us know that once we left the Palace, we could not re-enter.
We knew that we booked the Gardens ticket as well but not the guided Gardens tour, which was fine. However, we would have liked to have known that by leaving the Palace, we forfeited the ability to see the remainder of the rooms that she did not show us, visit the restaurant, or peruse the store. The weather was rainy, so we believe she rushed through the Palace tour to get the other patronsâ Gardens tour in on time. This was very upsetting and we feel that our 56 minute tour out of the slotted 3 hour tour was a waste of money. Her rushed presentation of the facts and history also was not worth the extra money that we paid to Walks in Europe. We were dissatisfied with this tour and recommend not booking a Versailles visit with...
Read moreWe booked a tour of Notre Dame cathedral. The instructions were to meet at the Equestrian statue of Henry IV. Right in front of Notre Dame is an Equestrian statue we assumed was the meeting point given we were to take a tour of Notre Dame. We arrived 40 minutes before our meeting time. When we could not find the guide at the meeting time, we asked another guide if we were at the right statue and were told it was down the street. I tried calling at that time and did not get an answer. We started down the street and after 2 blocks assumed we had missed it. I received a text informing us they were waiting for them which I answered and asked for help in finding the meeting point. I never received an answer. After a few more minutes of asking around for help, I called again and got through. I asked for help in finding the meeting point and was told that it was too late, we had missed our tour, and we could not take a later tour nor get a refund. The next day I went back and walked more finding that the meeting point for a Notre Dame tour was 4 blocks away from it. It would've been helpful to have a picture of the statue, inform us that the statue for this tour is NOT at Notre Dame, and give us guidance on where to meet when we could not find the meeting point.
We paid for a tour of Notre Dame and received nothing but frustration...

Absolutely phenomenal experience at the Louvre with Patrick as our guide! Skipping the line was truly a game-changer - those 2+ hour queues are no joke, even in 2025. Patrick's knowledge of the art was impressive, but what made the tour special was how he balanced information with humor, keeping us engaged and laughing throughout.
What stood out was how respected Patrick is within the museum - staff and other tour guides acknowledged him as we moved through the galleries, showing his reputation and experience. His storytelling brought each masterpiece to life, from the Mona Lisa to Venus de Milo, making art history accessible and fascinating.
The skip-the-line access was worth every penny - we went straight through security while others waited for at least an hour. The picture is us 30 minutes into the tour looking at the big waiting line. This extra time meant we could see more of the museum's treasures without feeling rushed.
If you're visiting Paris, this Louvre tour with Patrick is an absolute must. His expertise , humor, and the time saved by skipping the line made this one of the highlights of our trip. Cannot recommend...
