One star. Yes. I almost never review so poorly because this has an impact on people's business and jobs.
Unfriendly, stained my sweater with hair dye and a very rushed service.
(Also, this has nothing to do with a language barrier and as someone who doesn't speak fluent French I have had AMAZING customer service in other places in France where people didn't speak English. Being in France I take the burden for the communication gap. Also, they were speaking in English to a lot of other customers so it was not just me).
I made an appointment via Instagram 10 days ago and on arriving was told there is no appointment. Anyway, they eventually found it and I waited for 20 minutes before the colorist literally slathered hair dye on my head like she had a train to catch. There were smears on my forehead and neck which I tried to ask them to remove as hair dye can be toxic on face skin and lead to rashes. The guy came over to translate and dismissed my request.
After the application, not a word. So I waited for 45 mins wondering when I would have my hair washed or maybe they had forgotten??
The woman who washed my hair did not seal my neck with a towel so I had the back of my sweater wet and water trickly down my back. When I touched my neck I saw the hair dye was still on my neck. She passed me a dirty towel to wipe my fingers
Next the hair cut: a very rude "what do you want". Nothing in terms of a discussion or suggestion. By this time, I wanted to get out so I just said I wanted a trim on the edges. It was a 10-minute haircut and then a blow dry directly on extremely wet DRIPPING hair producing enough steam to run a sauna! So damaging to the hair.
Anyway I go to pay and realise my back is wet and the collar of my sweater is damp. I was meant to go out after this but went home instead to rewash my hair and take a shower as my neck had residue of hair dye. I then saw my sweater stained with black dye on the collar !!! Absolutely atrocious for 150 EUR. There are tons of amazing hair salons in Paris - even on the same street - so don't be swayed by the pretentious interiors and hipster vibes.
UPDATE: Not just my sweater, but hair dye is still leaking into my towels and pillow case. Photos of the same were shared with establishment. This has never happened to me before. But again, there was no discussion on the brand, colour, quality or intensity of the hair dye before application. Never met a professional colorist who does not discuss this before...
Read moreBest salon I've been to in Paris... or anywhere! I'd give them a 10 if the system would let me. Professional, caring, fun and brilliant! I've been looking for a fabulous salon & stylist since moving here and happy I finally found the one to keep coming back to! Most welcoming staff who make you feel at home. If you speak English that's okay; evolving French? ...they are accepting. With Florian's professional input & expertise, I am all smiles once again! My haircut/hairstyle restored my "charme" (mojo) vibes & made me feel like " me" again...but better. Florian was well versed and understood my scalp concerns around psoriasis. He took great care to ensure my scalp was happy & not irritated throughout my service. I don't know what shampoo he used but my scalp is loving the results and I am LOVING my hairstyle! I already have my next appointment for maintenance!!! đ I highly recommend Florian and the whole team at La BonneMaison. Merci Florian, tu es le...
Read moreI had a very disappointing experience at this salon. The balayage turned out terribly, with blonde highlights that were way too light and tacky, exactly what I asked them to avoid. Unfortunately, I could only see the result after the colorist had finished for the day. To make matters worse, one of their friends or colleagues came over, bumped into me, and then laughed. The stylist was not only unhelpful and rude, but I also left with a badly done haircut. All in all, it was a terrible experience, and I ended up wasting money and having to rush to another salon to...
