American Vintage — Local services in Bologna

During my visit yesterday, I purchased a sweater and explicitly stated to the seller, Alex, that I needed one without any synthetic materials. He was so confident and pushy, and I was feeling unwell, that I neglected to double-check, and proceeded with my purchase in good faith.

To my dismay, upon wearing the sweater at home, I experienced allergic reactions, indicating the presence of synthetic fibers such as acrylic, despite Alex’s assurance that it was composed of wool and alpaca only.

Today, when I returned to request a refund, Alex informed me that refunds were not offered, a policy that seems to contradict EU consumer protection regulations. Adding to my frustration, Alex insisted that I could only receive a voucher for the Bologna store, despite my residence in London.

Furthermore, Alex’s unprofessional conduct during our interaction was appalling. Instead of addressing the issue, he attempted to manipulate me into silence by accusing me of disrespecting his service, despite the misrepresentation of the product. He also asserted that an item made of 100% wool would be much more expensive, so what was I expecting with the price I paid.

I am deeply disappointed by this experience and urge American Vintage to review their refund policies to ensure compliance with EU consumer protection laws. Additionally, appropriate measures should be taken to address the unprofessional behavior displayed by staff members like Alex.

Furthermore, I have photographic evidence of the returns and exchange policy in the store, which does not clearly state that refunds are not permitted. Additionally, it explicitly mentions that the credit voucher issued can be used at any Italian store, contrary to what was communicated to me. Very beautiful AV store. They have a lot of the collection in store. Unfortunately always lots more women than men. (thats common, so nothing bad)

The shop assistant was very friendly, did speak good english and helped with everything, brought a lot of different shirts so that I could try to find what I was looking for. We have been to a lot of different shops and its absolutely not guaranteed to get such good and friendly support.

Tijdens mijn recente bezoek aan American Vintage in Bologna werd ik geholpen door Alexis, en ik kan niet anders zeggen dan dat het een geweldige ervaring was! Vanaf het moment dat ik mijn eerste outfit aan had, voelde ik me nog niet helemaal tevreden. Maar Alexis stelde me meteen op mijn gemak en kwam met verschillende alternatieven. Hij was ontzettend geduldig en creatief in zijn aanpak en hielp me uiteindelijk met het samenstellen van een complete outfit, inclusief tips voor schoenen en een bijpassende tas.

Wat Alexis zo bijzonder maakt, is zijn persoonlijke benadering en oog voor detail. Hij nam echt de tijd om te begrijpen wat ik zocht, en gaf deskundige adviezen waardoor ik met een outfit de winkel uit liep waar ik me geweldig in voel. Alsof dat nog niet genoeg was, gaf hij ons ook nog fantastische tips over Bologna, wat ons verblijf daar extra speciaal maakte.

Kortom, Alexis is een topverkoper die verder kijkt dan alleen kleding. Hij biedt een persoonlijke service van hoge kwaliteit en maakt je shopervaring...
