My wife and I stumbled upon Katian through a serendipitous recommendation - while touring Siena, we asked our guide where to find an authentic leather experience in Florence that wasn’t a tourist trap. Without hesitation, she (and her mother) told us to go to Katian. That simple suggestion turned into one of the most meaningful and memorable experiences of our entire trip.

From the moment we stepped into the shop, we were greeted with warmth and ease. Daniel, the owner, took a backseat and gave us space to browse until we were ready to engage. Once we were ready, and mentioned the referral, everything shifted in the most beautiful way. Daniel spent dedicated and unhurried time with us - not to sell, but to teach. He walked us through the differences in leather, how to spot authenticity, and why Italian leather (and their process in particular) is world-renowned. The jacket he selected for me, his very first recommendation, fit as though it had been made for me. Katian is truly a one of a kind gem! My husband and I stumbled upon Katian the day before we were heading to Venice as I was in search of some kind of jacket to keep me warm during our visit that was turning out to be colder than we prepared for. We were welcomed by Cat right away and it quickly turned into an amazing shopping experience for me. There was nobody else in the store at the time, so she closed the door (since it was chilly out) and immediately started pulling jackets for me to try. She probably spent 30 minutes with us just talking, showing me different styles and truly getting to know us. I wasn’t finding anything that I loved at the time, and I can’t get over how gracious Cat was. Absolutely zero pressure to buy anything, but she did encourage us to go online and read the reviews for their store to see what others thought of their products.

As we traveled around Italy for the next two weeks, my husband and I couldn’t help but gush over our experience at Katian. We had never met a shop owner like that in our lives and were just left with a warm and genuine feeling after leaving. We returned to Florence at the end of our trip, and by then we knew we had to go back to Katian. We decided to go back on our last day before flying home, and to our luck Daniel was at the shop that day! He greeted us warmly as we explained to him that we had visited the other week and met his wife Cat. At that point both my husband and I were dead set on each purchasing a jacket, we just had to figure out which ones! Again, Daniel patiently worked with us, pulling different jackets for us to try on and providing genuine feedback and styling tips when we asked. He is incredibly talented and knows his stuff! (Really they both are.) Cat arrived shortly into our visit so we were very excited to have the opportunity to shop with both of the owners there.

I could go on forever about Cat & Daniel, truly. We now are the proud owners of two absolutely stunning Italian leather jackets and could not be happier! I can say with certainty that we will definitely be purchasing additional jackets from them in the future based purely on the magical shopping experience we had there (and the jackets are amazing too) - there is nowhere better than Katian! **I wanted to add to my review as I recently was able to visit Katian for a second time! My husband and I were lucky to travel back to Italy about 6 months after our trip earlier this year, and we knew without a doubt we had to visit Cat & Daniel again! They told me when I bought my first brown leather jacket that I would eventually realize I need a black one and, well, they were right! We waltzed back to the shop during our time there and I ended up purchasing a beautiful, classy black jacket (set to arrive in the mail tomorrow and I CAN'T WAIT)! My husband also left with an amazing suede bomber jacket in a gorgeous green color. We are now a 4 Katian jacket family and I'm sure they will not be the last! Incredible quality, service and just the best shopping experience you will find. We cannot thank Cat & Daniel enough for just being the awesome people...

The BEST place for a quality leather jacket in Florence! I went to Katian Boutique during a recent visit to Florence after seeing it mentioned in travel blog and reading positive reviews online. It absolutely did not disappoint and I cannot recommend it highly enough if you're looking to purchase a custom leather jacket! As a tall, curvy woman I had been unable to find that awesome black leather jacket that everyone needs in their wardrobe. You know the one I mean...it goes with everything, it's effortlessly cool and timeless, and - above all - makes you feel like a badass when you wear it. When I walked into Katian Boutique, I knew I was in the right place.

After the owner Daniel greeted me, I browsed their selection of beautiful jackets (all designed in house), and found a style I absolutely adored. While I tried on the jacket they had in store, Daniel asked me a few questions and took my measurements. He talked me through the plan for making my custom jacket - how it would be handcrafted in Italy using my measurements and the adjustments that would be made to the length given my height, etc. We also discussed the color (it's my first leather jacket, so naturally, it had to be black) and lining, with Daniel accounting for every detail and answering all my questions.

Because I was leaving Florence the following day, I paid for the jacket with a plan in place for it to be shipped to my home back in the United States. The price was very reasonable and fair, and less than I expected based on my online browsing at other luxury leathergoods shops in Florence. The jacket arrived less than a week after I returned from my vacation (Daniel sent me tracking information when it shipped), and it exceeded all my expectations. The fit is PERFECT. The leather - buttery soft and beautiful. The details in the design and craftsmanship are gorgeous.
