Lovely antique and rare bookstore. It’s absolutely beautiful inside. It’s like a dream library; the kind of library I’d love to have in my own home - if I actually had a spare room to turn into a library. But I digress. What I love about this place is that it not only has antique books but also antique prints and drawings. I bought a beautiful old print, from the early 19th century, of some vases from the Vatican Museum. There are things at virtually every price point. I wasn’t willing to shell out $800 euros for a beautiful botanical print, but I picked up my print for only $25 euros. It’s right across the street from the Academia Museum so check it out...

Many Italian bookstores that specialize in older books carry only rare books worth hundreds of Euros or more. This bookstore has a wide variety of books at different prices, so you can find very nice older books for 15 or 30 or 50 Euros or whatever your budget allows, as well as the more expensive rarer books. The staff is very professional and friendly and you can feel very comfortable browsing there. Both English and Italian is spoken. Nuestra experiencia en la librería no fue agradable. La señora a cargo del espacio se comportó de manera grosera con nosotras. Nunca nos preguntó si requeríamos ayuda o si buscábamos algo en particular. Cuando entramos al local, ella estaba hablando con un cliente, entusiasta y en voz alta. Incluso entre los libros había un perro dando vueltas. Para nada el ambiente parecía solemne. Pero luego, mi amiga y yo quedamos a solas con ella, en un momento nos reímos de una situación personal y ella nos gritó de una forma increíblemente grosera para que nos calláramos. Quedamos atónitas. Yo soy profesora de literatura y mi amiga es musicóloga. Teníamos buenas preguntas para hacer y éramos ambas potenciales compradoras. Pero nos sentimos tan disgustadas después de ese trato grosero, que no quisimos preguntar nada. Yo tenía la intención de comprar pero el lugar es muy desordenado para buscar algo específico por cuenta propia. La falta de vocación comercial y la grosería de la mujer a cargo me quitaron la ganas de preguntar y desapareció el deseo y el entusiasmo por los libros. Una experiencia lamentable. Hay eiemplares...
