The Pitti Leather Shop — Local services in Florence

It’s our first time in Florence and we struggled to find a shop to buy leather purses and wallets without getting scam or feeling like we were taken advantage of. So happy to see the reviews of this shop by other Google Guides. It’s right across from the Piti palace with no sales advertisement and no one trying to get you to buy at a discount. I loved supporting a local family. The son was so patience while my sister in law and I kept asking for different colors and styles. They had different leather versions of the same wallet (cow skin, lamb skin, etc) and he was very informative about the different price level.

I was looking for a wallet to replace my current one, which was finally breaking down after a decade of use. I wanted to find one from an authentic italian leather store, but was having trouble doing so amongst the many fakes or low quality leather sellers that exist in the city. The staff was very helpful and patient in aiding me to sift through various wallets to find one that matched my needs and style. We were so indecisive about a backback we visited this store three times in all. Both the lady and her son were amazing and such good people, so kind and patient. This is the oldest leather shop in Florence and it was a joy to visit. More needs to be made of this store in my view. Don’t go anywhere else the quality is great and the prices fair- we looked around everywhere, the products here are genuine, well priced and dealing with the family here was an absolute pleasure.
