Mancuso Gelati Italiani was a spot recommended to me on Instagram reels and while these can be hit or miss, I generally find myself enjoying them. However, this was not the case this time. I went on a Monday evening and it was not busy at all, with only a few customers ahead of me and one behind. I had seen online that they offered a cannoli-gelato combo, with the cone being made of the cannoli shell and filled with your choice of ricotta filling before being topped off with your choice of gelato. I ordered this (the cono mancuso), to the British accented employee who was slightly standoffish, but I disregarded this at first. However, after I had paid and was waiting for him to prepare the cone, he never asked me which flavor I wanted in the cone and I didn't think that I needed to ask, so I just thought that I was misled online about this offering and just ordered my flavors of gelato, which were just ordinary, nothing too special. However, the customer after me also ordered the cono mancuso and she was asked by this same employee which flavor of ricotta filling she would like. I was quite dismayed by this interaction and experience at Mancuso Gelati, as the sole reason I had wanted to try it was for the cannoli-gelato combination since I like both desserts. I was confused as to why the employee did not even ask which flavor I had wanted and assumed that I did not want any. Even if I did not want any, he still should have asked and I would have replied no. The lack of ricotta filling inside the cone also led to the gelato inside to melt and start dripping and some of it fell onto my jeans, staining them. I will not be returning, despite my high hopes for this gelato spot and will not be recommending to anyone thinking about it in the future. The cono mancuso cost €6.30, and for a gelato that was average sized and missing ricotta filling, it really was not...
Read moreLol the person behind the counter was so so aggressively rude to us. Even when we were being polite in response. He seemed very frustrated and stressed out in his role of making low volume cannolis for people. He asked us what filling we wanted for the cannoli, and we took a bit of time to understand what the fillings were. He told us off for trying to order in Italian and told us to stick to our language. He groaned and got visibly furious at us for not immediately understanding the options. Huffing and puffing and raising his voice at us! Please relax and just help us...instead of telling us off whilst we order a dessert? Why was he being so mean to customers? He should consider a non customer...
