If you’re looking for an unforgettable evening in Palermo, Sicily that combines carbs, creativity, and tasty gelato, Towns of Italy is the way to go!

We booked the Pizza & Gelato Making Class through GetYourGuide, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. My husband, teen son (who is normally skeptical of anything labeled “family activity”), and I dove hands-first into the world of Italian cuisine, guided by the two incredibly patient and friendly chefs.

First, we got our hands doughy—mixing, kneading, and crafting our own pizzas from scratch. Once our masterpieces were topped to perfection, we moved on to the magic of gelato-making. The demonstration was fascinating as I had not realised what went into gelato-making specifically.

And then, the best part—eating! Our pizzas came out of the oven crispy, cheesy, and downright delicious, perfectly paired with homemade gelato and a glass (or two) of wine. Even our teenager gave his stamp of approval—a rare and precious moment!

If you’re in Italy and want an evening filled with laughter, learning, and lip-smacking food, this is the class to book. Five enthusiastic stars and a heartfelt “Grazie!” to Towns of...

Amazing! Price is fair, tours comprehensive with knowledgeable guide (excellent English too) and cooking class (pizza & gelato with Salve) were exceptional. Book one or more without hesitation.

I did the 3 hr morning walking tour, followed by the 2 hr visit to the palace & chapel and in the evening (6:30) joined an informative, hands-on & tons of fun cooking class for pizza and gelato. I learned that Sicilian gelato uses born starch & never egg yolks. The group was an excellent size, the facility was professional, clean, well-equipped & ample. The chef instructor was charming, knowledgeable & an excellent communicator. He kept everyone engaged and provided positive encouragement through the 3-hour experience. I’m 71 and there were participants of all ages, including a large group of Dutch girls, Croat friends & a Welch couple who were wonderful to chat with and enjoy the evening. Loved loved it. I’d do all three again…and in one day, it’s easily doable.

The company is exceptional. Excellent communications, reminders, discount coupons & friendly host in office and guide was wonderful...

We booked the pizza & gelato class The kitchen in which the class takes place is very beautiful and perfect for classes like these because you can see & hear everything very well. Our class was with Filippo. He takes his job seriously explaining everything but still keeping it light & funny. Everything was easily understandable. If there were any questions, he would come over and help. The outcome was absolutely amazing & delicious We also got served wine (there would have been soft drinks as well) & also the water was refilled all the time There was a kitchen assistance that made sure everything was kept clean and did her job quick & silent as to not disturb the class. We thought the price was great because you got to learn something & eat for almost the same price as a dinner We would definitely recommend...
