I visited Venchi Ice Cream Shop last Thursday night, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While waiting in line, my sister expressed a desire to try the caramel flavor before we made our purchase. At that moment, the person in front of us decided not to buy anything and left the shop, which indicated a potential issue with customer service.
When I approached the staff to ask for a taste, one of the three women working there responded in a shockingly rude manner. Instead of accommodating my request, she yelled at us, insisting on only one flavor and slammed the ice cream display case. I was taken aback and immediately told her that I didn’t need to taste the ice cream anymore.
Dear management, it’s crucial that you educate your staff on how to treat customers with respect and courtesy. Everyone deserves a pleasant experience, and we won’t return if your team continues to act in such a dismissive and unprofessional manner. I understand that no one is out to give away free ice cream, but there is absolutely no reason for such rudeness or negativity.
To anyone considering a visit, I recommend looking elsewhere for your ice cream cravings. After this experience, I now understand why the previous customer left empty-handed. However, after the initial greeting, I felt ignored for the remainder of my visit. While I was still browsing and holding several boxes of chocolates, the staff member seemed to be very enthusiastic in assisting other customers, including inviting new customers to try samples, but he did not offer me any further assistance or acknowledge me.
I am unsure if this treatment was due to a misunderstanding or perhaps something I said, but it left me feeling disappointed and unwelcome. I couldn’t help but wonder if this might have been influenced by my being Asian, which made the experience even more uncomfortable.

Read moreWhen we were making payment, the staff named Joseph made a mistake in our bill. He forgot to include the 10% discount. He told us to come back tomorrow to enjoy the 10% discount which we do not agree with. He then agreed to cancel our credit card transaction. But when we asked him for the receipt of the cancellation, he grew frustrated towards us.
We totally understand the process of credit card transactions. But we are just asking him if he can print us the cancellation slip. It is fine if he'd told us "cannot", and we will proceed to make payment. He did not try to understand what we wanted, and showed us the frustrating face.
Kudos to the rest of the service staff who took over our case and completed the payment process. Kudos to the staff who served us the ice cream as well.
