I usually never write reviews as I don't want my personal experience determine what it would be like for those who hasn't been, but felt the need to speak up after it being 10 months since the visit.
The service here nearly ruined the entire experience of Italy for me. First time visiting as a solo traveler, I was trying my best to accommodate to the culture and language but was treated in a very rude and disrespectful way possible. They took over 30 minutes to even come back to me to take my first order which I was not given a menu nor was able to ask them for service even after trying to nudge for their attention. Threw the menu on my table and came out with cold Cacio e Pepe, had to ask for utensils separately as well as water. Snatching plate off my table mid-meal as it "seemed" like it was done. Lastly got my bill tossed on the table.
I don't speak much Italian so I tried my best to use all the vocabulary I learned and practiced as well as some help from a google translator and images. So I'm not sure what part they might've been offended by me.
I was really hoping that it is the way they simply treat tourists or people around the area as I heard of this type of greeting from many people but once I looked around and saw waiters and waitresses taking pictures, selfies making small talks with other tourists at the restaurant I realized that wasn't the case. I'm not sure if I would rush into saying it was a racist behavior but couldn't get it out my head.
I will never visit this restaurant or walk by this alley again if I were to visit...
Read moreHoping that my experience was isolated case. Staff seemed annoyed that we came to eat. They looked tired and their attitude towards us as customers was hostile. I ordered chicken breast that according to the menu was cooked on grill, and I got chicken fried in the pan and with a generous layer of olive oil on top( everything that I was trying to avoid when ordering grill) and a simple salad with rucola and tomatos, both being lifeless( very mature tomato’s that you could peel them without need of cooking and salad that seemed to have been out in the heat for manny hours if not days )
At the moment of paying, because I have the habit to always check the bill I noticed they charged me a bottle of wine instead of a glass and when I confronted the waiter about it ( as his English wasn’t great) he felt somehow threatened got into defensive and was very rude when I simply said “ I thought a glass costed 7 euro and not 27”
His response:Signora , these are the prices I can’t change them cause u wanna be special
Than he noticed and didn’t apologized, he just put the money difference on the table and told me goodbye.
Hope you guys won’t have the same experience ✌🏽
Would definitely avoid this place...
Read moreI'm sure this place is great, but it was the worst service experience we had during 9 days in Italy. There was over an hour wait at Trattoria Da Enzo, so we decided to explore. Came across this restaurant purely by chance, walked in and politely asked if they could seat us. The server asked us if we had a reservation and when we said we did not, he responded with a curt "no" and dismissed us. One of his colleagues intervened and promptly seated us. We waited 20 minutes without so much as glance from the staff or an offer of water. The first server whom we had met then came to the table to announce the day's specials, which he proceeded to practically whisper into my wife's ear in the noisy restaurant while he completely ignored eye contact with me. We asked him for water which he eventually delivered, then we were again ignored for an appreciable time. I dropped a few euros on the table and walked out, which is extremely rare for me. Hope this was just an off night. btw, Trattoria Da Enza was great - much more casual and friendly though with a...
