Visitare il mercato! Un tempo il mercato di ortigia era un insieme di suoni, voci, colori e profumi ricchissimo e inebriante. Dovevi sgomitare per farti largo tra la folla che si accalcava tra le sue bancarelle colorate di frutta, verdure, spezie, stoffe, cianfrusaglie tra le quali facevano da padrone le "case" del pesce e della carne; non riuscivi neanche a capire la forma del lungo viale tanta era la confusione...oggi ho provato un grande dolore! Pochissima gente, poche bancarelle, nessun "grido invitante"...solo voci sommesse... Il silenzio... Voglio sperare che sia solo il periodo... Voglio credere che con l'arrivo della bella stagione, tutto torni com'era... andate al mecato, fermatevi a chiacchierare con i suoi commercianti, assaporate i loro prodotti e annusate i profumi, lasciatevi confondere dalle loro voci schiamazzanti... A really nice little market to visit. If you need fruit veg salads herbs and fresh fish this is where you should shop. I enjoyed freshly squeezed juice and a good granita.
