We stayed at the Varenna Garden apartment from Aug 22 to Aug 29 this year. Let me start with the 2 extremely positive aspects: The local organization was great, we got all we asked for, great and friendly staff. The location of the apartment is superb; in walking distance from lake, restaurants, close to bike rental...
Why the bad rating? Also for this, 2 main aspects: Parking is pretty far away, and it's a one-way street...while you're basically passing the apartment (50m) when you exit the ferry, you have to do a multi-kilometer detour to get back to the apartment from the other direction to load/unload the car - this should be mentioned in the description. The apartment is in the pitched roof area of the villa...reducing space where any person taller than 1m quite substantially. It's OK in the living room/kitchen, you get used to it in the bedroom - but the bathroom is basically not acceptable: In the description (which I think has changed since) we had read "bathtub with shower head"; problem is, anybody taller than 1m is not able to take a shower in the tub, which impacted our (active) vacation experience pretty negatively...no way for a quick shower...you have to take a bath or try to take a shower kneeling...no fun.
So overall, 3 stars are generous for Varenna Garden, we had rented via @Marriott and I will ask @Marriott to take it off the list, as I am used to higher...

They did came at morning but even like that it was not warm enough. No curtains on the bedroom, second night we used a blanket to back out a bit, what helped quite a lot. Otherwise clean and has all the basic for a...
