Visited in July 2025

The one-stop place for travelers visiting Kumamoto. Lots of eateries, including a few izakayas, as well as Kumamon souvenir shops. Some of the items sold by the eateries and even souvenir stall are quite unique like horse meat dishes.

There is a coin locker at the back of the food market. If you somehow don't too fancy Kumamon and want to find other more normal items, an AMU mall is located...

I went here to try to find souvenirs. They have a souvenir shop with several Kumamon items plus nicely packaged food souvenirs. The Family Marts in this plaza also have some souvenirs as well. There are a lot of food choices if you are hungry. It smelled so good but we did not eat since we had already eaten at Asu Plaza...
