As someone who has travelled extensively in Asia and has experienced many massages. I regretfully inform everyone reading this, please don't come in with high expextions.
The good: team looked nice and greeted customers with manners and courtesy.
The bad: First warning sign was seeing that the establishment was inside of an apartment complex. Fool me once.
Given it is my first time in Kyoto I decide to not think much of it. After entering the room and pay. I am led to a futon on the ground, instead of a massage table. At this moment I should have left politely. Fool me twice.
Anyone that has done a Thai massage knows there is no oil involved. As a bigger dude that wears an XL sized shirt. I was probably given a medium sized shirt to wear. Basically without room in the shirt whenever the technician rolls her arm or presses into me, my circulation gets cut off in my arm. When she was massaging my neck, she was basically tenderizing my neck meat as there is no hole because there is no massage table. I won't continue on, anyone who has ample experience with massages can already imagine how uncomfortable it can be.

I started with an oil massage, which was basically just messy lathering of oil and rubbing it around. After 30 minutes, I asked to switch to Thai massage, hoping it would improve. It was pretty much the same, but with a thin towel placed over me and a massage through the towel. I have 2 stars instead of 1 star because they allowed me to end after 60 minutes instead of 90 and refunded me the difference, which I appreciated.
Note that this is not in a business location. It's an apartment where the rooms are being used for massages. That made me concerned from the start, and unfortunately the experience didn't improve from there. I hope you have a better...
Read moreI’m unsure how to feel about the massage. I’m convinced the ladies know what they’re doing and are knowledgeable. Unfortunately, it didn’t help me at all. I’m still in pain, and to me, it felt more like a stretching session than an actual massage — especially not one that targets deeper muscles. It’s really more about stretching. So I wouldn’t recommend the Thai massage. Maybe a different type of massage would be better. The women are very kind, though. The place is in a private home and quite hard to find, so make sure to check the location carefully beforehand. The signs are only...
