This little gem is tucked away in a quiet residential pocket of Kyoto and serves the most incredible ramen I’ve had to date.
I’ve come to appreciate that simplicity is key – and today, the ramen master proved just that as he prepared our bowls.
The venue itself is surprisingly spacious and modern. Seating is arranged in neat rows, allowing you to watch the magic happen as our ramen was being prepared.
The menu is beautifully simple, focusing on their signature dishes. We all opted for the soy sauce-based ramen with pork, chicken, and quail eggs. The broth was perfectly balanced – rich in flavour but not overly salty. There were two types of meat: melt-in-the-mouth chicken and delicious savoury pork. The quail eggs had been marinated to give it the most perfect flavour.
That first spoonful of broth? Indescribable. The first word that escaped my mouth was “wow.” The noodles had just the right bite – long, springy, and resilient enough to pick up easily with chopsticks. No broken bits, no soggy mess – just clean, satisfying slurps. I scooped my bowl clean!
To top it all off, the two hosts were absolutely lovely – warm, welcoming, and so polite. We felt right at home from the moment we stepped inside.

From the moment you walk into the open kitchen concept restaurant, you are greeted with tantalizing smells and very friendly staff.
Being tourists, it is always a plus when a restaurant has taken the effort to provide an English menu that is thoughtfully explained.
We were seated on the bar-style counter in front of the kitchen, which allowed us to observe the expert chef meticulously arranging every bowl. We were seated with other locals, which is usually a good sign. Complimentary ice water was immediately provided upon sitting down and ordering was a breeze.
We ordered their specialty ramen. The ramen broth itself is soy sauce based, which gives an addictive salty-sweet note. The bowl also comes with a perfectly cooked quail egg, tender pieces of chicken and pork, boiled greens and wonderfully bouncy ramen noodles. There are options to add any extras to your bowl, which is explained on the menu.
The service was above and beyond even what we have come to expect in Japan, friendly and attentive.

We were then seated at the ramen bar, where we watched the chef prepare our meal. It is clear how much passion and care is put into the preparation of this perfect bowl of ramen. We got the recommended ramen and the taste was perfect. All of the toppings were well balanced the portion was very reasonable for the price.
