This. Place. Was. INCREDIBLE! We initially stopped in on a whim but the restaurant was booked solid, so we made a reservation for the next evening - definitely make a reservation! We arrived and had the place to ourselves for about a half hour before the crowd arrived. My husband was so excited to see a fork in the "tool" basket, so if you're like him and just want to inhale a meal once during your visit to Japan, this is your place (but trust me, you'll want to savor your entire meal)! 😂 For appetizers we shared the fried taro and a Caesar salad. Both were very tasty and the Caesar didn't taste like anchovies so I enjoyed it. I heard rave reviews about the chicken teriyaki and it ABSOLUTELY lived up to the hype. The dish came with rice and a potato "hash" if you will (not quite potato salad but not fingerling potatoes either). If I could've licked my plate clean I would have, but the owner swipes the edge of the plate with spicy Japanese mustard and that would've been all bad for me! Even though our teriyaki plates were enough, we wanted to try the wagyu. We ordered a 100g wagyu to share and it was cooked and seasoned to perfection. It also came with rice and potatoes and we left nothing on that plate either. The young staff were SUPER friendly and accommodating, and they both spoke very good English which was awesome. Prior to ordering they'll ask you about allergies, but we were all set on that front. I wish we were in Kyoto longer because we would DEFINITELY go back. This was my favorite meal of our trip - don't walk, RUN to have a meal here. I wish I had gotten the owner's name, but arigatougozaimasu for a FANTASTIC...

A cute little restaurant, average food, fantastic service, great with kids. If i could give a 3.5 star, I would due to the staff. However, due to the food, i rounded it down. Not in a harsh way, a fair way.

The food. I had high hopes reading reviews but was unfortunately left disappointed. It was in no way bad, just underwhelming.

The teryaki chicken, which I'd hoped would be the star, it was very bland.

The basic 100g wagyu steak was amazing, melt in your mouth, perfectly cooked. Delicious 😋

The seafood spaghetti was again bland. The water wasn't drained properly when the pasta was cooked, or too much was added to the dish in the pan. The seafood was ok, but a little over cooked. It was well seasoned yet lacked flavour.

The eggs omelette wrapped rice again lacked flavour. But it was the most flavourful dish (not counting the wagyu, as that is on its own!)

To me, it is as if a new chef is following a recipe but not tasting or has used incorrect measurements. Something is not quite right, and the food can't be being tasted, or it would be better.

The staff. The staff were attentive and super friendly. Made room for my wife, myself, and the baby in a stroller.

There are almost 2 sections to the restaurant, front and rear, so it'd be perfect for a private meal for a large group if you booked in advance, or if luck has it, they could accommodate any sized group.

I would not eat here again unless it was for the wagyu, but I would encourage you to try it for yourself as it is a nice little place and they're...

This resturant is known for catering to foreigners with allergies. The tradeoff is that the food is overpriced and lacks any flavor or spice that Japan is known for. The excuse is that it's not japanese, but fusion. A notable example is that one of us ordered the omrice, which traditionally is covered in a curry or a flavorful beef broth. This one was simply egg over rice with a tiny amount of soy sauce. It could easily be made at any home in under 3 minutes and cost 1300 yen. The chicken teriyaki was similar. An unnecessarily sweet dish tailored to the American palate. This one however was served with a tiny amount of what I believe to be a wasabi/Dijon blend. It's not an authentic japanese spread, nor is it enough to add to every bite. The service was also not as attentive as I've experienced elsewhere. When I asked if the bill could be itemized, I was told that that was simply not possible. Overall, this place is fine if you have allergies and need to avoid certain foods. Just don't expect to be impressed by...
