We’ve visited many Don Quijote locations across Tokyo and Kyoto, and this was by far the most disappointing when it comes to service. I had been looking for a specific watch that was sold out at several other branches, so I was relieved to finally find it here—but that’s where the positives end.
The staff showed zero interest in helping. It felt like they were selling something as ordinary and abundant as sand on a beach—indifferent and disengaged—even though I was spending thousands of dollars on a luxury item. No enthusiasm, no basic courtesy, no effort to assist.
In the excitement of finally finding the watch (and frankly, tired of their apathy), I paid and left quickly. It wasn’t until later that I realized I had forgotten to ask them to resize the bracelet. When I returned the next day, I was told bluntly that they couldn’t do it and that I should just go to a proper watch store. No apology, no attempt to help.
If it weren’t for the competitive pricing and availability, I would’ve walked away. For comparison, my friend bought the exact same watch at the Donki in Shibuya, where the staff resized it immediately with no fuss and were far more pleasant.
Yes, I understand Donki isn’t known for luxury service, but this particular location sets a new low.
TL;DR: If you’re planning to spend top dollar, skip this branch. Try another Donki instead—you might actually get some basic...
Read moreIn the first floor, we bought a raincoat with "2L" japanese size because we saw on internet that it should be like european L or more. I tried it on and I could not close it. We tried to change it for a bigger size and they said they could not do that. During the whole process they were laughing at me because it was a big size and though it was too small for me. It is ridiculous that the laugh about customer sizes like they were the bullies of the school. There were 4 women from the store at the end of the discussion with same behavior. They discovered a zip to make the back part of the raincoat bigger, in case you want to wear a backpack underneath and for me it was actually ok. I tried then even with my backpack and it was ok, but all the process they were laughing and saying "gambareee!" and whispering... So disapointing, and a really...
Read moreThis store is actually quite spacious and carries an impressive variety of products, yet it wasn’t very crowded when I visited. At first, I was a bit worried because I’d read some mixed reviews about this particular branch, but fortunately, I encountered staff who were decent—perhaps not overly cheerful, but polite and neutral enough. Interestingly, the store has two floors, and I even got a little lost at first; I couldn’t help but wonder if they’d deliberately designed the layout that way so customers would end up browsing more and seeing even more items. But in the end, I still ended up buying quite a few things—it was...
