This Resi guesthouse was the most unexpectedly disappointing hotel I've stayed in during my travels over the past few years. I don't use the word "worst" because I couldn't even stay there, and the owner refused to give a refund. As a result, the hotel remained vacant for two days while I had to find another place to stay. First off, there was no elevator. The narrow staircase was long and steep, and with an ankle injury, it was impossible for me to haul my luggage up to the second floor without risking a fall. Secondly, the room had a musty smell and was very dim. I don't understand why it was rated as clean online. The space was so small it made me wonder how it could possibly be worth $250 a night. While we will not have the chance to review this place on site, we wish to share that our booking experience via Airbnb and communication with the hotel staff have been very pleasant. The staffs are very responsive to any queries and have kindly shared detailed information to prepare us for arrival and check-in. The staff had really gone beyond the call of duty to even place calls to JR rail office to clarify our confusion over the various rail passes.
It is truly our loss that we have not been able to...

The apartment we got, 202, is a wonderful two double bed, sitting area, tiny kitchen and fully equipped bathroom with one of the nicest toilets I've been given to experience in Japan. All of that for a per-person rate that beats anything even remotely in the same comparison range in Kyoto.
I highly...
