💜💗🙌🏆Kyoto’s BEST rental kimono and hairstyle location🏆🙌💗💜 There are soooo many reasons to choose this place and I’ll help you narrow down your search right 👏 now. I’ll start off by saying that the whole kimono rental process confused me a fair bit when arriving here in Kyoto. First off- there are different zones of the city you can choose based on where you want your photos/ vibe/ experiences to take place while in one. Then you have the option to add photography sessions on top of the rental at some locations. Add to that the variation of prices, kimono selection AND quality, ability of the team itself, couples packages, tea experience add-ons… ugh. My brain nearly exploded. So the Capricorn in me got to work and started narrowing things down to the basics and what mattered most. With ninja focus I decided that there were some major details I didn’t want to lose sight of. They are: - A shop located close to traditional streets, tea rooms, temples and most importantly- the glorious Arashiyama Bamboo Grove! The backdrop is a big deal if you’re spending the time and money to do this but most importantly, the incredible feeling this region evokes. - Quality of the garments (some places are passing off cheaply made, thin, polyester yukata styles as kimonos!). That would defeat the whole purpose. - Selection of kimonos to choose from. I’m a bit picky. - Ability of the staff to expertly dress me so that it looks as polished as it possibly can. - Value for the money. I’m a DIY type. I prefer a great base price from which I can take my own photos, go to a tea room with my husband and take photos there, etc. I just wanted a beautiful kimono and hairstyle. That’s it. MY RESEARCH found that this place has the LOWEST PRICE to experience this which blows my mind. - Not feeling rushed by the staff (it is an experience after all!) The ladies running this shop are superstars. They were so gracious and enjoyable to work with. They made me feel very special and I enjoyed the experience thoroughly. I showed up at 1:00 without an appointment and there was still a VAST selection of kimonos, belts (obi), bags, shoes, hair accessories, etc to choose from. I recommend you don’t show up as late as I did if you’d like the full day wearing your kimono. I just wanted a few hours is all. (The price is the same regardless). The woman that fitted me is a true expert in her craft. I can tell she loves her work and her English was superb which really helped during the “choosing the kimono package process”. I chose the most basic option by the way (¥3300!) which means a slightly lesser variety of kimonos (I didn’t feel deprived) and losing the option for me to choose my own “belt” and “purse” (they choose for you but let’s be honest, she pulled out a few with her wonderful taste and let me hint at my favourite). She got to task efficiently and was busy yet didn’t make it feel rushed. In the dressing room they ask you to respect no photos. You can choose a lovely string belt add-on for an extra ¥330. Well worth it. Next it was hair. (An additional cost on top the ¥3300. I believe it is ¥1650). I suck at doing my own hair but if you have more talent than I do, feel free to skip this. You’ll likely want a cute ornament for your hair in advance if you go this route. I personally felt the authentic styling she masterfully executed really added to the outcome. They have a plethora of clearly photographed options hanging on the mirror for you to choose from. The “most popular” is the one I went with and I couldn’t have been happier. This woman is so fast I felt like I blinked and she had put together this absolute masterpiece! You get to choose a dangly hair flower even with the most basic option. I’m still reeling from her ability even a day later. She’s a true magician. I was out in no time flat enjoying the Arashiyama region. Based on all of the variables, I personally feel it’s a no-brainer recommending these highly professional, friendly and passionate women to allow you to experience this special cultural moment.

We found this place by chance while visiting the Bamboo Forest, and it was such a great experience. The staff were super friendly and professional. They helped us pick and wear our yukata quickly, and my hair was done nicely in just a few minutes. It’s also really close to the train station, which made everything so convenient. Highly recommend if you want to rent a yukata/kimono in Kyoto!

The kimono displayed in the front door of the shop caught my eyes immediately as the color mixing with the belt is so good! The fabric of the kimono is silk which gives a nice shine(I work in Luxury fashion so material’s quality is very important to me), I couldn’t think too much and just walked into the store, the two ladies are really helpful and nice, the weather is cold today, so I left my Tshirt on, the lady who helped me to wear Kimono noticed the collar of neckline is out, she kindly offered me a pin to lower the neckline! So the look is perfect and I can stay warm in a few hours. Thank...

This is a very good rental store! The staff are very kind and they don't charge you by the hour, you just have to come back right before they close. You get charged for the kimono, and the hair styling and the hair accessory is optional. I went with the cheapest kimono that was still really pretty and the hair accessory is only 100 yen I believe my total came out to be 3,500 yen which is insanely cheap! Highly recommend...
