Aizuya Nanba — Local services in Osaka

I went to see the Christmas lights around namba with my family, on our way home, the kids were hungry, and this store was able to seat my large family of 6.

The store is quite small, so I wouldn't recommend staying here for an extended period of time. They provide a basket for bags and jackets, so do use it with your belongings and outerwear that you don't want to get dirty.

We ordered about 40 takoyaki balls, we didn't have to wait long to be served. Also unlike most takoyaki stores in namba, these balls have huge octopus pieces inside and aren't covered with any sauce, it's actually recommended to eat them without it, but if needed condiments are left on the counter and are free to use.

Lovely staff, the gentleman at the counter helped me to get my order correctly despite my lack of Japanese. He showed the total price at the display and requested the order to the cook. A minute later I had in hands a nice takeaway box with 12 OG takoyakis, steaming fresh from the cooking tray. This place claims to be the originator of the takoyaki. They don't add the brown sauce or mayo to the takoyaki but instead optionally allow you to order a bowl of dashi to dip it in.
