We stumbled across this Ramen shop while exploring around Osaka’s Namba Area. My daughter was very Hangry (She 9 yrs old) and wanted to eat ramen. I first we didn’t know what to do but one of the chef came out and greeted us and pointed to the screen device by the door (there were some language barrier but we kinda figured out with some hand gestures). The ordering device had an English button option so it was pretty easy to order. You’ll have to order and pay by the door before walking in to the shop. Once paid don’t forget to take the tickets for the food! The restaurant has 2 levels, no tables only counter seatings (either bar or window). Bottom level has counter seatings around the open kitchen area, the top level has counter and winder seatings with 1-2 server (they were very nice and helpful). We ordered 1 bowl pork ramen with kimchi and scallions and an added egg, 1 set number 1 with pork ramen, bowl of rice and gyoza, and 1 set with pork ramen, gyoza and beer. Had to tell you that the napa cabbage threw us off a little bit because we’d never had any ramen made with cabbage before but it was very delicious and it made the broth more sweet. Pork was very tender and full of flavor, egg was perfectly cooked (whites is firm and yolk is starting to solidify but still runny). Broth is OUTSTANDINGLY delicious and rich!! Noodle is perfectly cooked, soft but still chewy. Overall we were very happy that we stumbled into this ramen shop!! Staffs are very nice and helpful and food is...
Read moreUnlike other vending/ticket ordering systems we've used, this one does not have a tear away receipt half - so once your server takes your tickets you have no way of proving what you ordered - this will be relevant later.
When we entered the upstairs we were politely directed to seats without issue, however after handing over our tickets service went downhill. In other restaurants we received drinks before food or with food - well here we didn't receive the drinks we had ordered at all!
At first we thought the server was overloaded/busy. However, every other table (including those who came in after us) was receiving their drinks so it couldn't have been that. When we were about halfway through our food, we realised he must have just forgotten so I went up to ask.
My Japanese isn't good enough to communicate the problem so I used a translator app to write "すみません、コーラも2本注文したのですが、まだ届いていません" to which the server nodded and said "yes" (in English). At that point I assumed we were still going to receive our missing items so I went back to the table.
For the next 15 minutes I see every other non-tourist table receive their drinks. Each time I hear the fridge open I think 'oh that'll be ours now' - It never was.
In the end, we left without receiving all of our order - do...
Read moreWent around dinner time, noticed our food took longer than others to get to us. Also ordered 2 drinks and we waited for a while, had to go up to the server to remind him and he just said yes & nodded but we still didn't receive our drinks.
Keep in mind, everyone else who ordered drinks got their drinks before their food came. We waited and waited for our drinks to come but it never did. We ended up just leaving as we already finished our food and then some.
In conclusion, service was poor even when we reminded the server that we had ordered drinks that hasn't come yet and we're down ¥560 yen with nothing to show for it. It might not be much but it's the principle that counts and we didn't expect much but basic service. Even then, the basic...
