Unbelievably poor experience just now. Have a jacket to exchange (unworn with receipt and tags) for a smaller size - was told I could exchange by Muji Lumin2 at their other store that stocked it in Shinjuku. Wasted my day running from one store (as advised by the staff) to be told by the other they wouldn’t exchange even though they had the jacket in stock and my size! I was then sent off to Shibuya (where originally purchased) they wouldn’t check they had the size so was no guarantee I could exchange. Luckily they had the size. I had to refund all my original 20 items and then reprocess just to change one jacket size, very poor, inefficient and unfriendly customer service, not helpful to those travelling here to shop. There is no information on this convoluted process...

Have always loved the design philosophy of Muji, and I’ve always made it a point to visit Muji in Tokyo whenever we visit every time we are in Japan for the last 10 years. Unfortunately, during my visit to this branch, the 2 staff taking the order at the counter, I’d encountered the most disinterested staff ever in Japan. They made it clear that they were disinterested, spoke with a monotonous drone that was barely audible. Perhaps management decided it was exactly because they needed more training, so they were put on counter duties? I don’t know. But it was EXTREMELY unpleasant and I’d felt so unwelcomed.

It’s no wonder in this day and age that folks start shopping for everything on Temu & Amazon when shops like Muji (which let’s face it, is pretty ordinary and comparable to Amazon) charge such a high price, and then have the nerve to charge a 3,000 delivery fee for each item??!! Even though it’s just a small floor chair. It would be ok if this policy is clear but to be laughed at by the staff when I asked if 3000 was for all items was uncalled for. I had planned to pay hundreds of dollars here today because I’m furnishing an apartment but I’ve decided to take my business elsewhere. Overall this shop isn’t as good as other branches. I’d go to another branch if you want good service...
