Burton Harajuku gets the honor of getting one of the very few 1 star reviews that I have ever written. Simply because the store staff here is absolutely terrible.
I really didn’t want to write this review.
I have come here multiple times and every time it’s the same.
The 1st floor staff is so unhelpful it’s almost like you’re disrupting them by being there 🙄. Every other Burton I have been to, the staff is super friendly and helpful.
They never ask you if you need help, explain things to you, or do any part of their “customer service” job. I thought maybe it was because I was a foreigner (who speaks Japanese), but nope it’s everyone.
Nevermind that I have spent so much money at this store. They treat you like garbage.
One time my partner asked if a bag was a Goggle case? And the staff with a bad attitude said, “that’s not a goggle case….” And walked away. No explanation as to what the bag was, or where to get goggle cases….. like these staff are hurting Burtons sales.
What pushed me to finally write this, was an incident today.
I was in the shop with my partner shopping for goggles for her. The shop was empty, no other customers. Not one time did anyone come over and say hi, ask if we had any questions, etc. not once! We were left to figure out for ourselves the differences between M3, M4, M4.S, M5.
At one point we were clearly struggling with trying to set it up so should could try it with a helmet, and it fell. Wouldn’t you know it, suddenly the staff starts sucking his tongue and rolling his eyes. Well guess what, maybe if he had done his job and explain things, maybe it wouldn’t have happened. (Japanese male, about 175cm, with a blow out hair style).
I will never spend money in this store ever again.
Go to Jimbocho area instead, get a better deal and better service. Or go to the Nagano or Niseko shops instead.
Burton America, if you’re reading this you really need to come to this shop and clean...

The customer service here is terrible. They would not my 6 year old use the potty when we spent a lot of money. I will never come to the store again.
UPDATE: after spending over 100,000 JPY on 2/5/2023 (8 items), we returned to the store on 2/19/2023 to return one item (a pair of Gortex ski pants) that had never been used, with ALL the tags still attached. The store employee (name starts with "S") told us that the return period is 1-week and refused to return the pants. Then, the employee examined the pants thoroughly, and claimed that they were "used". This was entirely rude and insulting. We stayed, insisted that he follow the US brand return policy, pointing out that he was the one who sold us the pants on 2/5, and that we had never used them. Then he decided to return the pants as a "one-time exception". This Burton store has horrible customer experience. I WILL NEVER BUY FROM THIS STORE AGAIN, AND...
Read moreToday, I visited the store and, unfortunately, had an exceptionally negative experience with the staff. Ishizuka, who assisted us (more like he had no choice), proved unhelpful and displayed little interest in selling the products. Despite my initially high expectations, now recognized as misguided due to my failure to check reviews beforehand, the overall customer service was disappointing. It was so unsatisfactory that a fellow customer felt compelled to share their frustrations with me. During the payment, our card declined, and he snapped at us multiple times, placing blame on us. Interestingly, another customer experienced the same issue, yet they unjustly accused us. This ordeal has left me with no intention of returning to this store. I’m giving them 1 star for just...
