The person in charge of the 3rd floor is very unpleasant. Even though the store is "tax free", which is especially useful for foreigners, this person only speaks Japanese and is contemptuous towards foreigners. Even when I tried to speak to him in his language to understand what this character wanted from me, he pretended not to understand anything and forced me to put indelible markers on my credit card and show my passport. (This is common when buying taxfree products), but after checking, he did not even apply the "tax free" and by verifying the receipt, I see that I paid this tax ..... this person has abused my trust!
For all intents and purposes, here is the information of the point of sale included on the ticket: March 10, 2013 PC n° : 56 000216: Yamakawa
The people on the first floor were very professional, respectful and friendly. Just the opposite of the rude...
Read moreMulan Akiba is a decent second-hand store that sells discounted anime merchandise, claw game discontinued items and other cheap goods. There's even a few discount bins at the far right of the store, and multiple floors that are adults only upstairs. The only downside is I only found mainstream anime and games here, so old classics like Death Note, Inuyasha or new ones like My Happy marriage, Your name weren't found. The aisles are also very tight, so no more than 1 person could fit in, 2 people is too many. There's also a language barrier with staff, as they spoke limited to no English. It's a decent place for what it sells, but there are more affordable anime merch in other stores within the Akihabara area such as Surugaya and Liberty Akihabara. If you find this store go for it, but it's otherwise...

Up until 2017 February:
Went here to look for old doujinshis, however, since that's not their main business they have little stock and their prices aren't the best compared to the other otaku/anime stores in Akihabara. The store is small in space so its not the most comfortable environment.
As others have said the staff here aren't the friendliest bunch of people (however, these are Japanese reviews so they might be different for "obviously" foreign looking customers). The staff's knowledge of doujinshi/otaku items are minimal at best (meaning they can't help you that much), and due to their unfriendliness I advise to avoid contact with them.
The cashiers are independent for each floor and be careful not to bring the item of upper floors down; they'll get MAD! Avoid especially the old geezer with glasses on the first floor, he is the worst one!
Use this store as a last resort to find the items you're looking for, there are other shops better in the neighbourhood that you can check out first. To tell you the truth the same franchise shop in Yokohama is much better...
