This store is a good landmark with the chef’s head and thankfully helps me orient myself whenever I am at Kappabashi. It’s always one of my must stop places on every trip. Their selection is immense and prices are very competitive, though they do not offer tax free shopping. I also find it easier to maneuver around this store versus others. Some of the employees have worked here for decades and one (the bald and skinny man) can speak charming French and English.

It also has a bathroom which is rare on Kappabashi st. Follow the arrows on the ground and you will find it. I always end up buying loads here- they have the best price for the Benriner mandolines amongst many other items. I also appreciate how they will leave me alone and let me browse in the store even over an hour and let me be on my own. If I need help, I just ask and they will help.

I do not bother with some of the petty priced stuff in the front outside of the store as I am mainly after made in Japan goods, and many in front are not. Staff are friendly and pleasant; you cannot go wrong here! What should you buy? Japanese stainless steel is tops! Grab sieves of all shapes and purposes, trays with drip racks, and gadgets you...

Their prices are very good and their staff are extremely helpful. 👏 👍 🙂 The one gentleman that I was dealing with spoke pretty good English and helped me so much.
