As a Westerner of Asian descent, I was curious to see how a Japanese restaurant would approach a dish as classic as the American hamburger. I'm happy to say I enjoyed it.

The Food: I ordered the Cut Single Patty, which is essentially a cheeseburger that's been cut in half and served with country home-style fries (large cut potatoes). It was really good, though not quite living up to the online hype. My wife got the Double Beef Hamburger Steak, which came on a sizzling hot plate with carrots, potatoes, and broccoli. That was also tasty, but not mind-blowing.

The Drinks: We ordered a cola, which tasted fairly standard, and a ginger ale, which tasted quite unique. A very strong ginger flavor. If you've had Asian drinks before, you'll enjoy this Japanese twist. If you haven't, and are expecting Canada Dry, you'll be sorely disappointed. We liked it though.

The Service: The employees were excellent. Very friendly and polite, despite our lack of Japanese speaking skills.

The Atmosphere: It's a cozy (and small by American standards) restaurant with cute decorations and a welcoming vibe. And like most of Japan, quite clean.

Overall: If you want American food with a Japanese twist, I would recommend it. But it's not worth waiting if there's a long line. So, either make reservations or get there right...

This was a bad burger. The quality of the meat was bad and not seasoned. The bun and onions were great, as were the fries, but the burger itself was very low quality. Poorly ground with big chunks of sinew. I found them on Instagram and was looking forward to it for months. We were very disappointed. Their house cola was gross. They were kind of rude and were giving us weird looks the whole time, though we were very quiet and polite. Not to mention it was the most expensive meal we had in Tokyo. 6 people was almost 16,000 yen. All I could think while I was eating it was how much better the McDonald's burger i had earlier in the week was. And I'm not a huge McDonald's fan. Perhaps it's just crafted for Japanese taste. But if you like American burgers at all, you will be disappointed with the poor quality. We were way excited to go there and were having a great day and it killed our vibe. Just based in the meat, one of the worst burgers I've ever had. And I've had alot. All other...

I was very disappointed by this burger. I had heard good things about this place, and I waited 15 minutes just to get a table. Then I waited another 25 minutes after sitting down before being served my meal. I was very surprised by how low-quality the patties were. I could not finish my burger because the patties really tasted that bad. The meat quality was the issue, as the patties were full of chewy sinew and gristle bits with minimal seasoning. I cannot remember the last time I was not able to finish a burger because of how bad the meat tasted. I thought maybe this was a fluke, but I now see other reviewers commenting on a similar issue. Keep in mind, this is not a cheap burger. I usually don’t feel the need to review places like this—but given the long wait I experienced, the nearly inedible meat and the higher price point, I feel obligated to tell people not...

I heard online that this was the best burger in Japan. The restaurant’s atmosphere was relaxing, the service was quick, the staff spoke limited English but was still very helpful, an English menu was provided, and the fries and homemade soda were all good, but the famous Kittayatsu burger was (by my group’s standards) just bad. The meat wasn’t ground, and was full of fat and cartilage. Even with the toppings and added ketchup, it was chewy without much flavor. I don’t think a single one of us finished our burgers. It’s possible that it’s just a different style of burger than what we were used to, and that the other traditional burgers on the menu are better. I would be willing to try the burger again at the Kobe location, which is supposed to be best one available, but with all the other burger restaurants in Tokyo, I don’t think I can recommend this one.
