First off, this google location is NOT accurate. I wanted to come here, and spent about an hour trying to find it. I think the location is along the same side of the street, just south a little. Walk along the road and look for pictures of the store entrance on google. Anyways, this is a wonderful shop! I stopped by a few knife stores in Kappabashi and I wish I went here first. The staff was very helpful with their recommendations and was very honest about pricing, specifying what would impact the pricing. It really helped me make a decision I was comfortable with, which it can be easy to feel overwhelmed on Kappabashi street.
The other thing I loved is how helpful the staff was. I wanted to get a knife for my mom with an engraving of her name (if it was translated to Japanese), and she helped me select something that would be a true translation, not just random symbols. I really felt like I was informed well and I really appreciated that. Any engraving will take extra time because they need to ship the knife to their main location for any engravings, but that worked out just fine since we were staying in Japan for a while. Even picking up the knife, the staff were sweet in how they wrapped the knife to make it special for my mother. I definitely recommend this store over others on the street. Their prices are better, if not very competitive with other places, and they will help you feel confident in your purchase. My mother loved her knife, so thank you so much for your help. I'm sure you get a lot of customers, but I was the "happy kira-kira" engraving and I enjoyed the laughs...
Read moreI had an absolutely wonderful experience at Jikko Tokyo Kappabashi. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and incredibly helpful. They spoke excellent English, which made the experience even more enjoyable and stress-free. I was taking my time deciding between a few items as a gift, and they were so patient and never once made me feel rushed.
What really stood out was how informative and honest they were about each product. Their deep knowledge and pride in their craftsmanship really came through, and it made me feel confident in my final choice. You can tell they genuinely care about helping customers find the perfect item—not just making a sale.
The level of service I received was exceptional, and the quality of the products is top-notch. If you’re looking for a special gift or simply want to invest in beautifully made Japanese knives, I highly recommend stopping by Jikko. A truly excellent experience from...
Read moreAmazing store with customers that are wonderful to seek assistance from and to suggest recommendations. They have a very large selection of jikko branded knives with varying degrees of sharpness and steel qualities. They can speak some degree of English and usually use google translate to translate more complex sentences relating to the knives. They have basic knives and go all the way up in quality to honyaki - steel used to forge katanas. The aesthetic of the rooms really brings out a vibrant and ambient atmosphere that makes you feel at east. Plenty of parking on the street and best to go during a weekday to guarantee a spot. The price can be a bit steep on the knife but definitely worth paying for if you found a knife that you like. They also let you try the knife slicing cucumbers and shelving the comparisons with other knives. I really recommend this place to anyone that is interested in knives including amateurs and...
