We visited Nuir Vintage based on a recommendation of a Japanese associate in Osaka.
It was however, a terrible experience. Other reasons aside, I would like to specifically highlight the extremely poor service of the two staff members mending the entrance of the retail area.
They were condescending in behaviour, rude, and extremely unhelpful when faced with a minor challenging situation (I.e. laughing, and making what seemed like snide remarks). More outrageous, was their constant implication that I may not be fluent in English (the official working language where I come from, and my first language). To add on to this, when we conversed in English, they were unable to understand what we were speaking about (either that, or they were being sarcastic). The gentleman seemed more muted in his behaviour but the lady was very openly unprofessional and unhelpful.
I have more to add but I am keeping my other comments reserved, for now.
That aside, I would like to heap praise and extend my gratitude to the lady (who supposedly was in charge of bag restoration) and the gentleman (who we assume, was the manager), who served us with up most professionalism and were helpful in resolving matters.
I have been travelling to Japan for months now, and this is the first time I have had such an unpleasant experience. This is especially distasteful, considering that we were recommended by a Japanese associate.
I urge the company to seriously look into addressing this issue, to prevent future re-occurrences.
I am happy for anyone to reach out to me, should they require any verification, that this is indeed a genuine...
Read moreNuir Vintage does not disappoint! It was my first time in Tokyo, and naturally, the allure of gently-used luxury items had me intrigued. I love that this shop is tucked away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and locals alike. It is bright, hip, and fantastically stocked! I promise you, there is a piece (purse, wallet, clothing) for anyone’s taste! For the collectors out there, this is the place to go! For those who work hard for their money, this is ALSO the place to go for some “treat yourself”-action. Prices are fantastic! Kaka was approachable, chatty, and not once did I feel pressured to buy anything!
A piece of advice for first-timers who may be unfamiliar with luxury pricing, go with an open mind and do your homework about price ranges for designers. Just because the items are pre-loved, does NOT mean their value goes down to North-American-thrift-store-prices. Most will still get sticker-shock.
I appreciate the Nuir team conversing in English with their foreign clients — It put me at ease and allowed me to shop comfortably without worry. Got a significant other tagging along? No problem! They have a seating area with couches, a coffee table, television and video games to entertain them while you shop! What a great touch!
Thank you,...
Read moreUpdating my review an hour after making a Chloe Paddington purchase.
I returned to my hotel, next door to further inspect and learn about the bag. It was immediately clear that the bag they sold me was a fake.
Typically the Chloe lock 🔒 is shaped like a mushroom when laying flat. This one went the opposite direction. I read this was how fakes are made.
The serial number had an extra digit not even on the same line as the 6 digit number and the tag differed from an original.
The Chloe dust bag letters were burgundy and paint had rubbed off on it. Clearly fake. And the tags it came with were not original or even related to the bag.
The inner Chloe engraving had a different font and another sign of it being a fake.
The owner and staff inspected the bag along with online pictures of originals and an original that remained in store and confirmed it was a fake.
I was promptly given a refund thankfully.
It’s unfortunate, but now I wouldn’t trust anything sold there given that this passed their initial inspection.
Please double check your purchases here and anywhere else even if you...
