The food here is fantastic. If you're looking for authentic Chinese food in Tokyo, this is the place to go. You know the Chinese food is good when all the servers are Chinese and the majority of the people eating are Chinese.
For the food, I had three dishes: Mapo Tofu, Fried chicken with chilli, and water spinach.
Mapo Tofu: You can choose from four levels of spiciness (you can pay 200 yen extra to add even more). I got level 2 and it was a little spicy but not too much (for Southeast Asian tongue). In my opinion the tofu tasted good but it was a bit too oily for my liking.
Fried Chicken with Chilli: This dish was fantastic. Probably the best Sichuan fried chicken I've ever had. The peppercorns tasted amazing and the chicken was seasoned perfectly.
Water spinach: Solid vegetable dish that was good to balance out the grease from the other dish.
Although the food is good, the service is below standard. The restaurant is quite understaffed so it takes a while before they fulfill any of your requests.
Anyhow, I still enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend to anyone who's looking for Sichuan...
Read moreForeigners are clearly not welcome here even if you can speak Japanese they will pretend not to understand you. A japanese person who knew English even intervened because it was so clear what I was saying the lady was clearly pretending not to understand me. Getting shouted わかない at is clearly rude to treat a customer in Japan. Decided to stay because the food was supposed to be good and that a gaijin present would annoy the rude staff. I normally don't get upset about this kinda stuff but it's kind of a joke lol this place is a Chinese restaurant chain off of the busiest intersection in the world to take themselves so seriously. Foreign residents and tourist should be aware. Food is actually pretty good, I went to this place as a spice challenge...
Read moreKeeping it real here, they do not offer any English assistance, and that’s all well and good, we’re in Japan and they’re language is Japanese. But we were refused entry because they didn’t speak English however we persevered because it smelt amazing. Sat down used google translate and found what we wanted. Pointed to it and asked for 1 of each. The ordering process was streamline and it went easy with use of pointing and holding up one finger. Wasn’t hard, hence we shouldn’t have been refused entry. We were then charged $40AUD extra for no reason and couldn’t argue it back because they couldn’t understand us and we couldn’t understand them. Food was decent, just...
