This gym was one of my places to visit while visiting Tokyo. The idea and theme concept of this gym is amazing but it can be better. I arrived early morning where I was the only person (around 7am).
You have One Piece background music playing while you’re working out and everywhere in the gym it’s really all decorated with One Piece art. The facility is very clean and they give you an “indoor shoe” to work out in. From the lockers to fitness area, you cannot miss anything One Piece related.
They have nice standard equipment as a standard gym should have. As an advanced lifter I wished they have more but they are limited on space unlike the gyms I go to.
The gym was very clean and well maintained. The staffer shows you a list of rules to follow before starting your workout. And they give you two sets of towels, one for yourself and one for cleaning equipment.
Unfortunately I wish everything about this gym was perfect otherwise I would give it a full rating. The price for a one-day visit is a-bit high and they should clarify that if you purchase the 5-hour pass it must be used within a day rather than over the next few days. I do find it ridiculous since no one on average stays in the gym for five hours.
Besides the cover charge, they don’t have any complimentary water, no water fountains so you’re forced to buy bottled water for a hundred yen. So bring a huge liter or gallon of bottled water before arriving.
The staff working there were pretty nice and I had no issue with them. They are very receptive when...
Read moreI’m a HUGE one piece fan and powerlifter, but these reviews are glazing. HARD. I paid 13,200 yen for the full package, and they still wouldn’t let me try on the shirt sizes before buying, and when the shirt was too large, i was not allowed to exchange (though, in all fairness, I had worked out in it for 10-20 minutes lightly).
Pros: Really cool theming. Visually the coolest gym I've been in. Equipment was very clean and extremely well maintained. Interesting features, like what appears to be a fitness mini game, are available. The body scan was the highlight; really insightful and fun! If you’re going, please do the body scan. They compare you to an OP character and give you ratings on your overall fitness and strength (I got 95, Cavendish. Try to beat me B) )
Cons: Gym is extremely small and lacking in equipment. No water fountain; must buy water. Shirt sizes were confusing and you are not allowed to try them on before buying. RIDICULOUSLY OVERPRICED. $120 Canadian to not be allowed to try on a shirt is shocking, and workouts are limited to less than an hour if you take the drop-in cheap price (which doesnt include the fun stuff or swag, and is still ~$10 if i recall). Constantly being watched by staff. Probably to ensure no decorations are broken, but it felt really awkward trying to benchpress when I’m being watched by 3 staff.
Overall, I’d say don’t go. The best features are in the package deals, but those are so insanely expensive it kind...
Read moreI had a fun day there and it is a solid one-floor gym with a some nice One Piece interior and wall arts. If it was priced reasonably I would give it 4 to 5 stars. 6,600 Yen for a one-day gym pass? That's pure insanity O.O If it would be a full-on One Piece experience over multiple floors maybe I could imagine a scenario where this price is acceptable. But all you get here is ONE room with not about 20 training devices. In Germany you wouldn't even pay 6,600 Yen for a monthly path at a Gym that is three times as big. Since I had fun (ignoring the money) and everything is clean, the stuff is friendly etc I am giving 2 stars instead of 1 but I would not recommend this place to anyone except people for whom money is of none concern. Even for huge One Piece fans I would not recommend it. I mean the wall arts are and decoration elements are nice but in no way justify the price. Maybe go to entrance if you are close by and have a look at the shifting pictures that can be seen before the reception. Those are a really sweet gimmick but it does not require you...
