I purchased a ¥50,000 ring at Vivienne Westwood Shibuya Parco on August 29, and after only a few days of use, I noticed a missing crystal on September 12. I went to the store next day seeking an exchange or repair, but the treatment I received was unacceptable.
From the start, one of his employees told me I should check items carefully before purchase, even though I did. He said they do not accept returns or exchanges, and any repair would have to be at my own cost. As a tourist with only three days left in Japan, this was not feasible.
During the conversation, staff members laughed among themselves while speaking in Japanese and did not offer clear options, making me feel my problem was not taken seriously. At no point did they ask to see the item. To my surprise, they started to insist to provide the purchase certificate (something that was never given to me at the time of purchase!!) even though I provided bank statements and tax-free information linked to my passport, and also they could check it in their system. They still refused to help.
I felt blamed for a defect that was not my fault and completely ignored as a customer. The service was unprofessional and lacking empathy, and it felt like they were taking advantage of tourists. I cannot recommend this store for...
