The EBC trek is a dream of many! But, for most people, when they are actually doing the trek, it doesn't feel like one - so grueling is the journey. Not for us though :)

Such was the coordination, support, and guidance by the Recreation Holidays team of Mr. Hari K (the owner of the travel company), Mr. Aashman, our ever dependable guide-cum-philosopher, and Mr. Suman, Superman in disguise of a porter (am not kidding - he weighs all of 55kg, but effortlessly carries luggage at an unimaginably fast pace, without breaking a sweat).

We undertook the 17 day EBC with Gokyo Ri trek with Hari's company in April-2024. Right from planning (where Hari considered all our requirements) the finer details of the trek starting a couple of months ago to coordinating it on-ground - Hari's support meant that we didn't have any unpleasant surprises in our long trek.

Coming to Aashman, if you ever need a guide, who has detailed knowledge of the Everest region, knows people who matter (the lodge owners, porters, etc), and keeps up the conversation alive (ensuring no dull moment), it would be Aashman.

And then there's Suman - who would carry our luggage, start either just alongside or after us every day but reach the destination in half the time that it took us.

Me and my friends went on Everest Base camp trek via Gokyo and chola pass in April 2025. We booked our trip with Hari Kadariya of Recreation Holidays and he ensured to make this challenging trek smooth and memorable one. Hari gave all the relevant information regularly and accompanied us through till we reached Lukla to start our trek. There we met our Guide for the trek..Ongchhu ..who was the star of our trip.. This trek wouldn't have been possible without his guidance & company. He was very soft spoken, genuinely caring and extremely supportive throughout the trek. He ensured we got a great service in the most limited resources at all our stays. He also had great sense of photography and was always keen to click some wonderful candid pictures of the group in the most beautiful landscapes. It was a great feeling for all of us to complete all the milestones of the trek and eventually reach the base camp successfully. Special mention to our porters who tirelessly carried our luggage from one destination to other and always ensured we got our stuff to use on time. Hari hosted a great dinner for the group once we returned to Kathmandu and also presented us a small momento for our achievement. What an absolutely amazing experience. The trek was constantly filled with breathtaking scenery and was soul satisfying beyond my imagination. The trek itself is a little bit harder than an easy walk with some challenging parts that always end in yet another beautiful horizon that make it all worth while. Hari was our guide and catered to our every question, complaint, itinery change and dietary requirements. I couldn't recommend this agency enough. Our trips itinerary had a couple of hiccups due to unforeseen diplomatic arrivals in Nepal however Hari arranged everything so we basically just had to arrive and start walking! He took all of the travel stress out of it leaving us to thoroughly enjoy the experience. His knowledge of the trek, Nepalese culture and history was outstanding. If you're thinking of doing a trek and don't want to feel part of a commercial school excursion I would recommend Hari. It felt like a hike with a close friend or family member. I even unfortunately caught a cold and Hari was able to medicate and accomadate my reduced trekking capacity which I am very grateful for.
