The Best Kathmandu Kitchen — Restaurant in Kathmandu Metropolitan City

After reading the review and going there for dinner I was really disappointed... The staff was very nice, but the food we got was just terrible... I hadn't been in Nepal long so I ordered a dish I didn't know. It was under the headline "Nepalese Traditional Cuisine" and next to a picture of an interesting looking soup with thick, straight and yellow noodles. On questioning they told me that yes, it is some kind of Nepali noodle soup. My girlfriend was craving Indian food so ordered Palak Paneer, our favorite Indian dish that we've eaten in many countries, including India, and regularly cook at home.

The food was served very fast, within less than ten minutes. Well, my traditional Nepali noodle soup turned out to be INSTANT RAMEN. Yes, instant ramen. In MSG water. Not even like when you're at home and think you're gonna treat yourself today and add some veggies and an egg to it. I could have gone to the super market and made the same thing with the water kettle in my hotel room, and spent only 50 rupees or less.

I was really speechless at this point, but my girlfriend who loves instant noodles swapped dishes with me to ease the growing disappointment showing in my face. However, the palak paneer that was served was a poison-green colored, starchy and tasteless mucus, with a few pieces of deep fried (!) paneer in it. I couldn't even finish half.

I'm hoping we just chose the wrong dishes, really. But for us just a sad waste...

We ordered a chicken thali set and chicken tikka masala, there was a really bad smell coming from both dishes, the chicken tikka masala felt really old and had a really bad odor, one bite and I was immediately able to tell it was kept in the fridge for days and was just heated up for me. The chicken thali sets side dishes also felt cold and smelly that was clearly kept out for too long. Really disappointed with the food as we only literally took 2 bites before we asked the 2 boys in the restaurant to give us our bill and left the place. Would not recommend anyone to go there, there’s also bunch of people inside the restaurant playing card, gambling, extremely loud atmosphere. In hindsight when we saw how the environment was that probably should have been our sign to...

We had a forgettable experience with bad food and average service. Myself and my friend had went there for dinner on 11/11. Ordered peanut masala, chilli chicken, mixed veg curry and chicken curry meal..unfortunately almost all the items were terrible..the peanut masala was very spicy with lots of chillies added. The chilli chicken was passable..as was the chicken curry..the rotis came along with the curries were dry..the worst was the mix veg curry which was full of tamarind .we could not have that and we had to leave without having the main course..they did offer to change the mic veg curry which we did not take going by other dishes and the changeover likely not having...
