I recently had the pleasure of dining at Momotarou Japanese Restaurant in Thamel, Nepal. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the restaurant's authentic Japanese atmosphere. The decor was traditional and elegant, and the staff were all friendly and welcoming

The food at Momotarou was absolutely delicious. I ordered a variety of dishes, including sushi, tempura, and teriyaki, and each one was expertly prepared and presented. The sushi was particularly fresh and flavorful, and the tempura was crispy and light. The teriyaki was also cooked to perfection, with a rich and savory sauce.

I also enjoyed the service at Momotarou. The staff were friendly and attentive, and they were happy to offer recommendations and answer any questions I had about the menu. Japanese resturant around thamel have very much impact within the tourist who comes Nepal for Trek and Tour. Momotaru Japanese Resturant locates right in the middle of touristic hub, to have authentic taste of any food we have to taste it at local country or place. Same as to taste Japanese food try to have it from local Japanese friends. Expecting something similar we went to have lunch at Momotaru but we were little disappointed coz of very simple Japanese taste .. beside tea it’s worthless. And also for the price it’s too much comparing to taste of the food. They have list of Japanese items in menu but most of them they cannot serve coz of lack of meat or other stuffs .. place is cozy and clean and one can fee the place like a Japan’s Resturant but with taste it’s nothing like that .. for sure I won’t go there again .. better to have so simple Resturant like KIZUMA...

I have been to this place with Nepali friends, late. I had some special sort of Dhal Baht. I have been used to DB in Annapurna circuit : which means very different types of DB according to the location. And this in every aspect of what divine meal is DB. That’s why my word on it is supposed to be accurate. The Japanese DB I had there was beyond amazing. The mixing of Japanese and Nepal cultures created some heaven mixture. The gate towards heaven was wild opened. I don’t have words to describe the gastronomy type of pleasure I had there, in the occasion.
