During our recent visit to Kathmandu, we had the pleasure of dining at Karnali by Spize, and it turned out to be one of the most satisfying culinary experiences of our trip. Located in a cozy setting, this restaurant not only serves delicious food but also offers warm hospitality that makes you feel right at home.
Food Quality
The highlight of our meal was the Chicken Thali, which was absolutely delicious. The thali was well-balanced, offering a perfect blend of flavors that were both rich and comforting. Each component of the dish was thoughtfully prepared, from the tender chicken to the flavorful sides, making it a hearty and satisfying meal. We also tried the mid-fried momos, which were equally impressive. The momos had a perfect texture—crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside—with a filling that was seasoned to perfection. These dishes clearly demonstrated the restaurant's commitment to quality and authentic taste.
Ambiance and Hospitality
What truly set our experience apart was the exceptional hospitality provided by the two ladies who served us. Their warm and welcoming demeanor made us feel like we were dining at a friend’s home rather than in a restaurant. They were attentive without being intrusive, ensuring that we had everything we needed and were comfortable throughout our meal. Their genuine care and friendliness added a personal touch to the dining experience, making it all the more memorable.

Read moreStarting with the food, we had buff keema noodles, noodles laphing, and buff shapta. All three items were below average. Buff keema noodles was greasy and the quantity of minced meat was too less. The spices were good and he noodles was smooth. Laphing was the most disappointing. The laphing was WARM. It tasted like saadheko noodles wrapped in Maidaa. No tofu, no spicy taste of the laphing whatsoever. The soup they gave with the laphing was good, but not compensating the blunt taste if laphing. In the menu, it mentions that Buff shapta is thinly sliced pieced of meat, but the reality is different. The buff slices were huge and very chewy. The taste didn't stand out in anyway.
Talking about the service, the waiter was nice. The food came out quickly...
