Blue Tomato Shop Amsterdam — Local services in Amsterdam

Not my first time to Blue tomato as I pretty much purchase all my clothing there, but I want to add a special shoutout to Alex (Alexis, I hope I spelt his name correctly) from the Amsterdam location. This time I went in with the intent to purchase new snowboarding boots. He was patient, helpful and extremely curating to my needs. I simply told him my style, what board and bindings I had and my budget and he came back with several pairs for me to try. Watching him balance a fine act of helping me while another customer was true class, giving both me and the other customer his full attention and help. Folks like him make the experience of going to a shop for specific gear the best experience. Also shoutout to the checkout clerk, and the rest of the staff, they’re all friendly, and especially patient (didn’t catch their names, but it was on Sunday 17th December in the afternoon). Unfortunately my shopping experience at the Blue Tomato shop in Amsterdam ended up with mixed feelings the past week-end. The person that supported me on finding the right product (wetsuit) was extremely nice and helpful. However the store staff that closed the transaction wasn’t. He wasn’t commercial, not understanding and unfriendly. He dropped me the bag with the wetsuit without saying thank you nor good bye and moved on straight away to the next customer. I imagine that the store can be busy but I believe that there is some basic respect to have when a client buys from you, even more so when it is an expensive product. Really disappointed of how the experience ended and not planning to buy from the store again...

I recently bought a new snowboard and boots from this shop, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. Romain was fantastic – he took the time to guide me through the various options and helped me try several models to find the perfect fit within the budget. Given the huge selection of boards and boots, his expert advice was invaluable. He even helped me install my old bindings onto the new board, which was a huge plus! I’m really happy with my purchase and would definitely recommend this shop to anyone in need of snowboard gear. Fantastic service and...
