The staff was friendly, route was pretty, seats were nice, and the boat had a little bathroom. However it was super hot inside, as it was a sunny day and the boat was glass and mostly closed (the windows and part of the roof were open, but little wind/air came through). Also the couches were boiling when we sat down.
The sad part was that the audio was very difficult to hear. Speakers were places above the seats, but some seats were far away, and the audio wasn't loud at all. With a full boat, it is almost impossible to get everyone to stay quiet, so there's lots of noise which made it even harder to hear. In the end most of our group couldn't hear the information, which was very disappointing.

Read moreDid the Amsterdam Light Festival tour. The boats are old and have a booth style layout so half the people are looking toward the back and have to keep their necks turned to see anything. The boat glass is also all scratched up which makes seeing anything difficult. The captain was giving the tour in both Dutch and English and no pause between switching. So it was never clear what he was saying and the tour felt like a waste of money. I would recommend finding a different operator. People also had free reign to be loud and walk.around or stand in exits so it was hard to hear anything, boat was getting cold and people were frequently...
Read moreRederij Kooij is a great tour place under a minute walk from Amsterdam Central, the main train station for the city. It’s a great place for a layover both on train or on a 5 minute express from Amsterdam Airport (AMS), I went here on a 5hr layover at AMS and was fine. The tour itself is only an hour witch is still plenty of time to see lots of historic and beautiful homes on the many canals of Amsterdam, and both Dutch and English versions of history about various parts of Amsterdam you are sailing through. You can see lots of bridges and overall I’d recommend the experience for visits of all lengths, or people...
