NEVER EVER will i visit this poorly and shockingly managed overpriced supermarket AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *staff with an attitude and no greetings when I approached her for picking up my online order. I also wanted to purchase some items in person before picking up my online order and I asked if she could process both my in-person purchase plus the online order together but unfortunately she asked me to use self-checkout kiosk when she could have easily processed my in person purchase and online order at the same time immediately. What an extremely unhelpful incompetent staff. After checking out the in person items myself, I then approached her again and out of the blue she assumed I am an Uber driver, what a serious violating bias she has unbelievably. Ironically the staff is Indian herself. FOR THIS ACT ALONE, THERE IS SUFFICIENT BASIS FOR HER TO BE INSTANTLY FIRED. could not initially find my order when I arrived and made me wait for them to pick my items on the spot, which NEVER EVER happens with my past 100+ Countdown online purchases. staff kept find all sorts excuses for their own mistakes just admit it, is it too hard due to your ego? many items unavailable so they don't update their website stock in real time. waste so much time waiting for such poor service. THEY JUST MADE A SUPER EASY SMOOTH SHOPPING PROCESS INTO A NIGHTMARE AND A BIG HEADACHE. YOUR INSINCERE APOLOGY AT THE END MEANS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING TO ME. I HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO VENT MY ANGER TO LET OTHERS KNOW IT'S HEAPS BETTER TO SHOP ELSEWHERE. WILL NEVER EVER COME HERE AGAIN, PERIOD. THIS PLACE WILL CERTAINLY SHUT DOWN...
Read moreI am a local and used to shop here quite regularly but honestly try my best efforts not to. The veges are always stodgy and frankly shouldnât be on the shelf. The amount of times I have bought lettuce and had to pick through the bag to find pieces that are useable and throw the rest out. Iâve bought mince before that had clearly been repackaged as the back of it was brown like how it gets when it sits in the light too long. Thatâs not even my issue. The main issue is the poor customer service. Some of the girls on the checkout are super friendly and kudos to them. However, my partner has been chased out of the store three times because they assumed he didnât pay, which is so embarrassing especially when you are a local and you pop into the supermarket at least once a day. The Indian lady who manages the store is so rude. She pretends she doesnât know who I am and always requests ID when I buy groceries and a bottle of wine. I understand this is a requirement under law, but the fact of the matter is, I do not look under 25, and do you seriously not remember a face that you have seen several times a week for the past two years? If the owner wants this place to succeed, he needs to tighten this stuff up. Do not recommend to anyone. Drive 1 minute down the road to Farro and save yourself the harassment...
Read moreI like this place. Some things are expensive, but some things on special are a LOT cheaper than other supermarkets, so I figure it all works out in the end. I love that they often have reduced to clear items in their chiller and bakery sections, which reduces waste and gives me a bargain. What I love the most is the convenience. It's on my way home, there is lots of parking and the outside spots have the widest parking spaces in New Zealand, it feels like. The lights that control entry and exit onto Green Lane West make it really easy to come here. I now tend to come here for top-up shops instead of my local supermarket because it's far less hassle. They also have some interesting things that you don't commonly find in other supermarkets, so take some time to have a good browse if you...
